Mike Bithells Thomas Was Alone is one of those games and it finally has a release date, set for November 25. The game is a puzzle platformer with a unique story twist of Thomas and his friends being anomalies in code that programmers are attemping to ferret out. I wont spoil anything, but its probably the best shape-based puzzle game youll ever play.

| Thomas Finch on Death, Platforming, and Ethereal
Added: 20.10.2014 12:12 | 5 views | 0 comments
Greg Micek writes: "Most independent videogames are labors of love, and plenty come from a very personal place within the heart of the developer. Ethereal, from Thomas Finch, is a whole other story though. What at first appears to be yet another indie platformer is a very personal tribute to Thomas' late father. In addition to a heart breaking back story, Ethereal features a number of unique gameplay elements that could allow it to stand out to those less concerned with personal tales of woe than they are with playing a great game."

Thomas Chamberlain at The Koalition writes: Sleeping Dogs was a surprise hit for many back in 2012, the open world crime game was a crowded genre yet Sleeping Dogs managed to fill it with an engaging story and entertaining Batman-inspired combat. Two years later and the game has be re-released on the current generation of consoles, while the game does not come as a surprise anymore, Sleeping Dogs still manages to be an enjoyable experience that should definitely be played if you missed it the first time around.

Joystiq writes:
A pterodactyl, a wizard and Thomas Jefferson walk into a bar that exclusively serves candy. No, this isn't the set-up for an old-school joke; this is Costume Quest 2 from Double Fine, and it is a bag bursting at the seams with strange and charming humor. Unfortunately, it's also a shallow bag, lacking variety and depth.

| I Am A Brave Knight - Review | CriticalIndieGamer

(CriticalIndieGamer) Okay, so, I Am A Brave Knight bears little to no resemblance to Thomas Was Alone, except for its simple multicoloured characters. Its hard to compare it to anything else though, as it is so unique. As weve learned time and again, however, being unique does not make a game good.

| Kickstarter Videogames Dying? Not So Fast, a Chat With Thomas Bidaux
Added: 13.10.2014 23:12 | 12 views | 0 comments
Greg Micek writes: "A couple weeks ago a blog post on the ICO Partners website started making the crowdfunding rounds, and then proceeded to pop up on nearly every gaming site around. The innocently titled "Kickstarter and Video Games - 1st Half of 2014" written by Thomas Bidaux and is a recap of a talk he gave at the Ludicious Game Festival last month. The high level take-away from the piece is that videogame Kickstarters are collecting far less money in 2014 than they did in 2012 and 2013, and more of them are going unfunded. While many sites took this as a funeral march for videogame Kickstarters, the actual story is a bit more complicated than that. We were fortunate enough to speak with Thomas recently, and he was kind enough to share some more thoughts on the matter."
