When Risen 3: Titan Lords was released on last generation consoles, the response to the game was lukewarm at best. Despite featuring a large, interactive, world for players to explore, critics rightly derided it for its clumsy combat and multiple performance issues. Risen 3: Titan Lords Enhanced Edition hopes to make amends for the problems associated with the original release. Unfortunately, this hasnt quite gone to plan, as can be seen by the overwhelming amount of problems that are still present.

Last year saw Piranha Bytes and Deep Silvers RPG adventure Risen 3: Titan lords a game that received a lot of mixed reviews. Open-world exploration combined with pirates sounds like it should be a winner so why did it receive so many mixed opinions? With only a year under its belt is this Enhanced Edition simply a cheap port to bring it to the next generation or has it been given a genuine update to improve on last year criticisms.

By re-using many of the islands and settings from Risen 2, Piranha Bytes were able to spend more time on quests. The series has also had an emphasis on freedom, letting you loose quickly after the tutorial. Combined with some DLC which has been added in, which is available immediately after the tutorial, and you end up with a hugely daunting list of things to do after just 20-30 minutes of playtime"
