Transistor was easily one of the most anticipated games of the year. Supergiant Games previous game Bastion (what one could call an ode to James Joyces Ulysses) was a huge success and people couldnt wait to see what else they had coming. As they have been known to do, Supergiant Games certainly proves lightning strikes twice.

Then again, coming from Supergiant games, this may not be a real surprise to many, having already produced a well trimmed blend of combat, storytelling and mystery into 6 or so hours of game play that you dont come across too often in the market today. Avoiderdragon: Bastion was a sleeper hit from a debuting indie company that combined narrative with well-designed gameplay, as well as a narrator that made the game very distinct. It didnt get a great reception at first, but word of mouth started to spread the good news about it and the rest was history. Theyve since created hype for their sophomore effort, and it looked good at first glance. That game has now been released, and it seems like Supergiant Games is here to stay.
