Saints Row IV Review [Capsule Computers]

Added: 15.08.2013 3:19 | 8 views | 0 comments

Travis Bruno of Capsule Computers writes: "Continuing a franchise that has already taken things to an extreme is always a difficult hurdle to overcome. Should the next game turn it up to eleven or should it return to its roots? What if fans of the franchise find the next game in the series less enjoyable than former titles? With a game like Saints Row: The Third already being known as one of the most ridiculously titles in memory, Volition had a lot to do to top their last game, so Saints Row IV able to take things to the next level?"

Who would have thought that a semi-serious GTA clone would spawn a franchise where you play the President of the United States of America as he hurtles through a virtual reality with super powers? Saints Row IV is not going to redefine the open world genre, but Volition have stuck to what they do best and made a genuinely fun and engrossing game that has enough to satisfy both fans of the series, and newcomers alike.

Saints Row IV Review -- Hail to the King (Front Towards Gamer)

Added: 14.08.2013 16:19 | 6 views | 0 comments

Saints Row IV definitely pushes the phrase over-the-top to the largest hyperbole. The transition from the open-world also-ran to a superpowered romp went through some rough spots, but the ends justify the means regarding Volition and Saints Row IV. The game accomplishes what a sequel to Saints Row The Third needs to do by throwing all previous misconceptions out the window, and successfully blends the insanity of both Saints Row and superhero games.

PA:The game is filled with amazing moments, from the introduction, to the arguments about fan fiction, to singing along with a friend in the car, to the myriad minigames and side-quests the game throws at you. It's irreverent, silly, and above all entertaining. The team at Volition threw in everything that makes sense, and quite a few things that don't, into the game, and it all came together into a beautiful mess of joy. You'll deal with a few bugs here and there, welcome to open-world gaming, but nothing that will stop your enjoyment of what's going on.

Saints Row 4 Review | Paste

Paste: "Saints Row IV is incredibly aware that it is a Video Game, capital V, capital G; it explicitly embraces the bizarre, juvenile and often incomprehensible logic of the medium, and revels in it. Heres a toybox, Volition says, go smash some stuff together. Can do, Boss."
