Saints Row IV Hands On Preview | Hard Reset

Seven years since the franchises initial release on Xbox 360, Saints Row has gone through, in a sense, a spiritual trek to find out what it really is. To begin with, the franchise was an oddly shaped counterpart to the semi-serious, semi-gangbanging GTAV: San Andreas. Once GTA lost its gangbang and became super serious, Saints row 2 stepped in to fill the silly void that Grand Theft Auto 4 left. People responded to the hilarity of the third street saints and Saints Row The Third was born.
Without a peer to contend with, Saints Row 3 was spectacular. It perfectly hit in almost every way. The perfect amount of hilarity, with a fantastic open world and the ability to nut punch or suplex at almost moment. You had to sit and think to yourself, what the hell do Volition do next. Well they made a 4th.

Ben of Xboxer360 writes, "Saints Row is a crazy game, its really that simple. It may have started out more akin to that of its gang-banging older brother Grand Theft Auto, but some time ago the tam at Volition took the moral high ground (or low ground if you prefer) and dropped the serious undertones in favour of comedy and efforts to make Saints Row the king of the Sandbox. During its initial production, moving from standalone DLC to a full retail sequel, Saints Row IV and Volition were caught up in the aftermath of THQ's massive collapse, which left Saints Row's future up in the air for quite some time. Thankfully Deep Silver were able to take the reins, meaning Saints Row IV was back in business but with such a turbulent production period, did this affect the end product at all? Well luckily I had the chance to sit down with...

| PCGamer- Saints Row IV Preview: with great power comes no responsibility whatsoever

PCG:How do you give more power to the leader of the Saints, a man (or woman) already globally celebrated as a crazed, untouchable psychopath? In Saints Row IV, Volition have made him the President of the United States. The demo I played opened with the Prez swaggering towards a press conference, making snap decisions on key matters of state. Do I solve world hunger or give cancer the middle finger? Do I agree to a Nyte Blayde marathon with Josh Birk, the shows airhead actor? Do I punch a fusty old congressman in the face, or the balls?
