Welcome to the simple yet surprisingly intricate side-scrolling world of OlliOlli. OlliOlli is a two-dimensional skateboarding game where you must complete challenges while traveling from point A to B during a level. The control scheme comes off as rather basic, using A to push your skateboard forward, shoulder buttons to spin, and left stick or D-pad to jump and perform tricks. Appears easy right? You would be mistaken, as learning how to coordinate these controls together can be a daunting task. With a moderately difficult learning curve, this game might be off-putting to some, but trust me, its worth the time investment.

Welcome to Windward, an Early Access co-op game thats full of potential. Windward puts you at the helm of a ship (a sloop to begin with) as you trade with, and complete quests for the various towns in your area and fend off pirate invasions. All while peacefully coexisting with, or challenging the other factions for territory. The game begins with the selection of your preferred difficulty and a few options that help balance the game. After this you are given control over how many areas your procedurally generated world will have and what faction you wish to start off with.

Metro: Skateboarding sims may have become a rarity in terms of big budget games but this excellent indie sequel shouldnt be missed by anyone. OlliOlli2 is a skateboarding game, and despite the 2D point of view its a pretty accurate one to. But no matter how dimensions it takes place in its not intended to be a simulation. This is a video game first and foremost and although it uses the moves and conventions of skating as its basis, its also relatively unconcerned about what is or isnt physically possible in reality. Few games are as daring when it comes to real world subject matter, but thats what makes OlliOlli2 so good.
