Into Digital Dust The Fight To Save Gamings Past Before It Disappears Forever

Added: 07.09.2015 20:17 | 38 views | 0 comments

GI Buried deep under the city of Culpeper, Virginia rests some of the oldest and most important film masters ever recorded. The Library of Congress National Audio-Visual Conservation Center was converted out of a cold war bunker built to withstand a nuclear attack. Today, 90 miles of shelving spread across 35 climate-controlled vaults housing more than a centurys worth of recorded film history. It is an important record of human achievement and an invaluable resource for future generations. Video game preservation efforts pale in comparison. In an age of Internet archiving and HD re-releases, one might think few nuggets of video game history are left undiscovered. The truth is, some of yesterdays games still slip through the cracks and become lost to time. While the media age has made us better chroniclers, video game preservation still faces several challenges, and we are at risk of losing our gaming history almost as quickly as we can record it.

Armello Review | GameWatcher

GameWatcher writes: Many gamers grow up playing not only video games, but board games as well. While these tabletop games can be incredibly fun, they are also a fair amount of work. It can be very difficult to find a group of friends that all like the same games and get those friends together at the same time. Video gaming solved most of these problems with online friends lists and matchmaking, but there are very few video games that capture the feel of a traditional board game. Armello is one of those few.

CeX Review- Madden NFL 16

Added: 07.09.2015 18:18 | 15 views | 0 comments

Jason Redmond writes- It's the game that literally kicks off the holiday season for games and this year is no different. Yearly game releases usually result in iterative improvements, focusing on one or two aspects of the entire game and the rest is left relatively untouched and leaves you questioning your life choices as to why you just dropped so much money on the same thing again. While Madden NFL 16 is no different, the work that's been done have created some fundamental changes that invigorates the sometimes routine gameplay.

Corpse of Discovery Review - GamersFTW

Nick from GamrsFTW writes: Corpse of Discovery is one of those rare games that make you feel completely alone. While your artificial intelligent Robot (A.V.A) follows you about on your journey, there is nobody around to keep you company on your last journey before home, it makes you feel alone, not only in the game but in the real world as well. While Corpse of Discovery does have many faults, the ways the game plays tricks on your mind makes it a game worthwhile to play.

Mad Max Review | SoftPedia

SP: The Mad Max saga has been around for decades, thanks to the impressive movies. While the series got a video game release, I'm sure not many people remember the top-down driving game for the Nintendo Entertainment System that arrived in 1990.

This year's Tokyo Game Show is set to be the biggest ever. For the first time in its history, the convention will use the whole of its usual venue, Makuhari Messe. (Usually, a couple of areas are unused or dedicated food courts or merch displays.) It will also feature the biggest list of presenters and titles in over a decade. This could be good or bad.
