Game of Thrones Episode 4 Sons of Winter Review | Entertainment Buddha

EB: Telltales Game of Thrones Episode 4 Sons of Winter definitely manages to get things back on track for the troubled Forresters, who finally start to play the game of thrones like true cunning Westerosi Lords and Ladies. Unlike the third episode, which felt more like one big setup for the final three entries in the six part series, Sons of Winter manages to present more than a few difficult choices that will have long lasting affects on how the series plays out. Depending on a few available dialogue options one could greatly change the landscape of players in this made for gaming Game of Thrones narrative, but I wont dive into those spoilerific moments, just know that they definitely put a bit of a strain on your heart and soul when you must make your game changing choice.

Even to diehard fans of HBOs Game of Thrones, Telltales episodic series hasnt offered much to like: technical glitches, bad animation, fluff writing, meaningless choices and unbelievable tedium have riddled each of the three previous episodes. To Telltales credit, Episode Three The Sword in the Darkness, was mostly bearable, elevating itself all the way into I guess that wasnt terrible territory. Luckily, Episode Four Sons of Winter has continued the trend, and Id even go as far as to call it occasionally pretty good.

PixelGate.co.uk writes:
''TellTales Game of Thrones series has been their weakest work since Jurassic Park, but theres always been a since of hidden potential just waiting to burst through. The firs three episodes have plodded around, often looking for a real direction, with the intention of setting the pieces into places. Episode four, Sons of Winter, marks a turning point for the series, welcoming back TellTales ability to tell a story while engrossing the player, but its not without its faults.''

| Game of Thrones: Episode 4 Sons of Winter Review I Hey Poor Player

Hey Poor Player's Francis DiPersio writes - "The latest chapter in Telltale Games narrative-heavy episodic adaptation of Game of Thrones is here. While the previous episode, The Sword in the Darkness, painfully plodded along as the Whitehills viciously attempted to pound the Forresters into submission, Game of Thrones Episode 4- Sons of Winter is an explosive chapter in the series, where the tides of change are in the air, and House Forrester begins to push the offensive against seemingly insurmountable odds."
