Rich at GameSpew writes: "As a launch title for the ill-fated WiiU, ZombiU was a pleasant surprise. Combining first person action adventure with strong survival horror elements, it was a solid game that made great use of the WiiUs unique features and also a bold release for a platform holder known for its family-orientated titles.
Unfortunately, like the console it was released on, sales underperformed, and as a result the planned sequel was canned. Ubisoft seem to be keen to give the original title another chance though, having now ported the title to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, albeit minus its U as well as its online and multiplayer features. Whether or not this is enough to give Zombi legs to spawn a series remains to be discovered, but either way, this is a solid port that enables this under-appreciated title to reach a larger audience."

Neil writes "The last few years have most definitely seen the undead rise once again, with zombies and shufflers appearing in a ton of newly released titles. What was once confined to the inner sanctuary of Nintendo, ZombiU has now been revamped by Ubisoft and upgraded to a big enough degree by Straight Right to warrant a release on Xbox One. But is this one zombie apocalypse too far?"

NL:
Although this game doesn't stand out as a definitive tower defence title, a very generous amount of upgrades combined with a very tightly developed main game make it all the more easy to keep playing this addictive little creation. An array of different weapons to play with, zombies to fight off and locations to survive in will satisfy both the casual gamer wanting some fun and the high-score hunters who won't stop until they have total domination.

"ZombiU is arguably one of the best launch titles for the Wii U. A gritty survival game that managed to make great use out of the extra screen in the form of the Wii U gamepad. Unfortunately, the game sales was considered a flop to Ubisoft, and as such, I dont think we will see a sequel anytime soon- if at all. ZombiU was one of the few games that made me actually wish that I had a Wii U, and Im glad that this port was made so that I can play it without purchasing a brand new console."

"These days, local coop games are becoming harder and harder to find. The integration of online multiplayer has turned the industry in the complete opposite direction by making the game mode redundant. Why would I want to play games at your house when I can do the same thing at mine and talk to you through Skype? Zombie Vikings, developed by Zoink Games, answers this question fairly simply: Because its damn fun. -- PlayStation Enthusiast
