It's an "EXCELLENT representation of the dash", argues Microsoft's Penello.
Xbox One director of product planning Albert Penello has conceded that Microsoft's recent Xbox One dashboard video walkthrough won't exactly match what you'll experience at release day, but has described it as "an EXCELLENT representation of the dash, the features, and the speed".
Co-op mode and Operation Hydra DLC included.
Tablet-based top-down shoot 'em up Halo: Spartan Assault is, indeed, scheduled to release on consoles, as we suspected back in June. An expanded edition will launch on Xbox One and Xbox 360 this December. I guess this is that "upcoming Halo" Tesco listed for 2013 release in April, then.
Albion's creators discuss the advantages of the Unreal Engine.
The Fable Legends team have been chatting to the bods at Unreal Engine about how much they love the Unreal Engine. Apparently,
Epic's tech allows for rapid iteration on art assets, without having to send the files in question back to the programmers, and the result will be Lionhead's most attractive Fable yet. I should bloomin' well hope so, guys. These next gen consoles aren't cheap.
"They said they'd give me an Xbox One for free, so how could I possibly refuse?".
If you were in any doubt that Microsoft is Serious about TV on Xbox One, lay those doubts to rest. The firm has signed up British comedian Jonathan Ross and his colleague Georg Backer as executive producers at Microsoft Studios. They'll "consult" with a number of teams on the expansion of first party IP into TV, music and movies, including Rare, Lionhead, Soho Productions and the recently founded Lift London.
"The story will continue to unfold even months after the November 22 launch.".
Forza 5 players who pick up the game's Season Pass - or as Microsoft would prefer, Car Pass - will nab no less than 60 new cars across six add-on packs, Turn 10 has announced. That's a whole big herd of randy metal oxen. How long do you think it'll take you to tame them all?
Choke on the pungent aroma of turret-death, offworld scum.
Activision has formally blown the doors off Call of Duty: Ghosts' Extinction Mode, which is effectively a merge of Spec Ops Survival from Modern Warfare 3 and Zombies Mode from Treyarch's World at War and Black Ops games. In brief: there are aliens, and they will die. Or you will. One of the two.
Play one of the game's activities at launch, at no additional charge.
Microsoft's decision to delay Kinect Sports Rivals till spring 2014 caused a bit of a hullabaloo in July - with the possible exception of Fighter Within, it's the most compelling demonstration of what the new Kinect sensor can do. Good news, fist-shakers - one of the game's six sporting pastimes will release as a free digital "Preseason" trial alongside the Xbox One itself in North America, Europe and Australia.
"These properties and platforms will include core, broad-appeal, and casual games," suggests listing.
Join me, friends, for a trip back to the crazy world of mid-2012, when there was so little news on next generation hardware that we had to root through Microsoft job listings for pointers. As of 17th October, the firm is in the market for a creative producer at Microsoft Studios, who will apparently work on TV shows, comicbooks and other varieties of trans-media spin-off for the label's "entire" portfolio.
Black Ops 2 had "a lot of creative freedom", acknowledges creative director.
Sun gotta come up, grass gotta grow, journalists gotta ask DICE about a sequel to Battlefield 2142, DICE gotta say something non-committal about a sequel to Battlefield 2142. Speaking to OXM during a Battlefield 4 multiplayer hands-on event, DICE's Lars Gustavsson has discussed the prospect of another science fiction Battlefield, commenting that there's more scope for eyebrow-raising gameplay features when you aren't chained to a real life premise.
"With the storyline, we knew that we wanted to end the Modern Warfare franchise," says community boss.
Call of Duty: Ghosts marks the "end" of the Modern Warfare series, Infinity Ward's community manager Tina Palacios told OXM and other journalists at a press event over the summer. This sounds pretty unequivocal, but when we approached Palacios after our hands-on for extended thoughts, she wasn't quite as firm. There's hope for you yet, Captain Price.
"If we had the right game, then yes, certainly we'd think about it.".
Final Fantasy is, I think it's fair to say, a little stuck in the mud. Sales of the past few iterations haven't been terrible, but a vocal minority of fans remain decidedly unconvinced by the focus on Lightning, heroine of Final Fantasy XIII and the upcoming spin-off release, Lightning Returns.
Crytek's cinematic ambitions take a predictable turn?.
"But they were already making a Ryse TV show!" the anti-Xbone wags are doubtless claiming, as they point to various notably gameplay-deficient Making Of trailers. Laugh it up, deadbeats. I'll think of you when I'm cleaving the hairy elbows from heathens in Ryse multiplayer, or perfecting my execution timing by way of those SmartGlass-powered community video features.
Cool-accented guy makes use of cool features, talks to his cool friend.
Ho, adventurer! Another Xbox One video stands before you, waiting to join in brutal, QTE-free combat with your optic nerve. This one's a flythrough of the console's dashboard, instant switching features and various apps, performed entirely with Kinect voice controls. Of course, it's a marketing trailer and we can't actually see what the user is doing, much of the time, but hopefully it's representative of the actual product.
"Now it's like I'm losing work because Jensen is so popular.".
Voice work can be a useful gig for an actor - you don't have to worry about looking the part, as long as you sound right. But if your voice is as distinctive as the one for Adam Jensen, it might actually lose you parts, it seems.
Is this going to be a standup fight, sir, or another bug hunt?.
Call of Duty Ghosts is so near we can almost taste it. (It tastes of explosions, guns and dogs, in case you were wondering.) But just because the game's about to drop doesn't mean there aren't a few more surprises in store.
Tricks and treats from around the internet.
