Cross-continental competition hosted in London November 1st.
Think you're pretty good at Battlefield? EA are holding an event on November 1st in London that aims to settle once and for all whether our stiff upper lips will remain steadfast on course to victory, or whether our cousins across the pond will blow us away with explosions and yee-haws.
Tour reaches London on October 25th and then stops in Manchester November 18th.
Microsoft certainly aren't taking any half measures when it comes to letting folk get their paws on their new console - two new dates for a pair of UK stops on the Xbox One Tour have been announced, bringing shiny new systems to London and Manchester before the console's launch on 22nd November.
"The story started on the current generation of hardware, and it is only right that it concludes on it.".
You're likely more than aware right now that plenty of the big name titles coming to Xbox 360 from this point - Watch Dogs, Battlefield 4, Assassins Creed 4 and Call of Duty Ghosts to name a few - are launching on both the older Xbox 360 and the shiny new Xbox One. The sequel to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow however is one example of a game bucking that trend.
Some say all Drivatars are descended from him.
The intersection between Forza fans and fans of the BBC's Top Gear programme is a pretty substantial one, and the partnership that started with Forza 4 is set to continue into 5 by offering those drivers that consider themselves the very best to go up against the mythological racer himself... sort of.
Slice and dice plenty of malevolent devices.
How do you like your ninjas? Lurking in the shadows, waiting patiently for the perfect strike? Or do you want to slice the living spark out of hundreds of angry robotic foes, slashing in all directions and looking pretty damn cool while doing so?
"I have great admiration for Valve. It has done some really smart things.".
You might have heard of a little Valve project known as Steam Machines, announced last month - a set of swanky new PCs that are supposedly tailor-made for living room play, created in partnership with various manufacturers and down for release from 2014 onwards. Is Microsoft worried by this not-unanticipated attempt on the part of Half-Life's creators to wrest away dominance of the spot beneath your telly? The answer appears to be no.
Will also pave the way for $500,000 giveaway.
Rockstar will release a new Grand Theft Auto 5 title update on Xbox 360 next week, which will hopefully address the mysterious disappearance of purchased vehicles. It'll also prepare the ground for the giving-away of some $500,000 to all GTA Online players - an apology, Rockstar says, for any technical troubles you might have had over the past week or two. That's 500,000 in-game dollars, yes, not real money. Sorry.
Half a million Los Santos dollars for everybody affected by GTA 5 multiplayer glitches.
That's certainly one way of saying sorry. Rockstar has announced that it will give GTA Online players half a million Los Santos dollars each in October, as compensation for the service's on-going technical difficulties. The first instalment of $250,000 will hopefully hit your in-game wallet by the end of next week, with the second to follow by the end of the month.
"Most of the features, we were able to get on current gen," says Rubin.
The new Call of Duty's dazzling Squads AI won't be exclusive to next generation consoles, Infinity Ward's Mark Rubin has confirmed to OXM - those hyper-customisable 'bots will be just as lethal whether you're rocking a trad pad, or clutching the unholy temple of ergonomics that is an Xbox One controller.
Full list of supporting outlets released.
UK retailer GAME will host a number of Xbox One store lock-ins at selected outlets around the country, allowing the impatient to try the console out weeks before release. Games down to appear at each hands-on include (but aren't necessarily limited to) Ryse, Killer Instinct, Dead Rising 3 and Forza Motorsport 5. Has your city made the cut? Take a look.
"We haven't shown everything we have in our pockets yet.".
Concerned about Eidos Montreal's Thief reboot? I'll admit to having a few reservations, as detailed in our latest preview, but that could be no more than a show of my own ignorance. Eidos Montreal producer Joe Khoury reckons fan misgivings have much to do with a shortage of information - and you can look forward to some exciting announcements before release in February.
"I do not feel that there is a great deal of difference between North American and European productions.".
Long-standing Final Fantasy producer Yoshinori Kitase wants to know what we all think represents a "European-style" game, because at the moment, he's struggling to tell the difference between an American game and a European one.
It's mathematical, algebraic, and totally radical.
There's very little in life more satisfying than a Saturday afternoon spent watching an entire series of Adventure Time, so I can foresee many people losing hours of their life to the new Adventure Time game, Explore the Dungeon Because I Don't Know! which has just received a new two minute gameplay video.
"It was never a set rule that we always get closer to the present day.".
Assassin's Creed 4 game director Ashraf Ismail would very much like to inflict the Assassin's Creed brand of fleet-footed discretion on the Pyramids next. Hold your seahorses, Ismail - we haven't even started blowing up quaint cliffside properties in the Caribbean yet.
Glacius & Sabrewulf & Jago, oh my.
It's Friday morning. There's no better time, in my opinion, to view a bit of arcade stick porn. Mad Catz and Double Helix have released no less than six press shots for the upcoming Killer Instinct stick (which Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb shared a picture of earlier this month), so that we can ogle it from all angles, and even take a peek inside its box. Oo-er, missus.
Microsoft "disappointed" by age rating board's decision.
The curse of game classification strikes again! Dead Rising 3 has been denied an age rating in Germany, and will thus not release in the country alongside the Xbox One on 22nd November. Will it ever see daylight on German shores? That depends on how much Microsoft and Capcom are willing to censor, I guess.
You'll be all tied up from 23rd October.
Deep Silver has announced that Saint's Row 4's newest DLC, Enter the Dominatrix, will be available for download from 23rd October
Rockstar claim majority of issues are now resolved in the update, available to download now.
I sense that quite a few of you reading this may be spending quite a bit of time in Los Santos this weekend. If that's the case, I'll be seeing you there. And, now that Rockstar have announced a new automatic title update that will address the majority of problems we've all been encountering (including glitches which caused characters and save progress to disappear completely) there's really no reason not to get stuck in.
Sources suggest Steve Ballmer's successor could come from Ford or Nokia.
A successor to Microsoft's departing CEO Steve Ballmer could be appointed by the end of the year, if sources close to Bloomberg are anything to go by. The hiring committee specially appointed to find the company's new top dog are now apparently in the process of narrowing down candidates following preliminary interviews.
EA claims the allegations are "without merit".
THQ may be long gone, but recent court documents have revealed that it's now in the process of suing EA from beyond the grave, saying the publisher struck up fraudulent negotiations with the company in orders to underhandedly acquire the UFC license from Zuffa.
