Fills up at 6.88 GB, supported by microtransactions.
Digital Extremes' online third-person shooter Warframe is now available to download on Xbox One. An "MMO-lite" and the first free-to-play title released through the ID@Xbox Program, it casts you as an ancient warrior equipped with a fancy mech suit (the eponymous Warframes) and is built around co-op missions for groups of four.
Activision reductions join forces with Xbox Gold Deal of the Week.
You think the difference between 30 and 60 frames a second is unbearable? Kid, you clearly weren't around in the Dark Old Days when we used to play games like Activision's Vigilante 8, the Xbox 360 version of which is now extra-cheap on Xbox Live. During four player splitscreen on a homely PS1, that game would crawl like a dying giraffe. Covered in honey, iron filings and velcro. Lying on a giant magnet.
"It is the diversity of our community that allows games to flourish.".
An open letter to the games community against online hate speech, threats and harassment has now been signed by hundreds of developers, critics and industry figures, including ID@Xbox boss Chris Charla, Assassin's Creed 3's creative director Alex Hutchinson, Epic's Dana Cowley and 343's Josh Holmes.
Physical version bigger than pre-download.
Someone in the States has obtained a physical, boxed copy of Destiny, and (blurry) photos of the box reveal that Bungie's MMO-shooter needs up to 40GB of harddrive space.
Bungie talks loot drops, mysteries and teamwork.
Hey you! Yeah you, the guy dancing on the spot, draped in a piece of 800-year-old spaceship carpet. I bet you think you're pretty Hot Stuff, don't you, Mr and/or Mrs Guardian. I bet you think you're the bee's knees, the cat's pyjamas, the... the... gorilla's elbows. Well, let's see if these here observations about Destiny's Raid missions can't wipe that smirk off your face.
Cara Delevingne records new dialogue at Rockstar.
Rockstar has been quite quiet on what new content will be featured in the Xbox One and PS4 editions of Grand Theft Auto 5, but it's recently been revealed that it will be updating its radio content with a fresh batch of voiceover work from its featured celebrity DJs.
Like a Gat out of hell.
Saints Row IV: Re-Elected, an Xbox One re-release of last year's presidential address, launches on 27th January 2015 in the US and 30th January everywhere else, Volition today announced.
Check out how the game has improved since the Gamecube era.
You know, I never thought I'd ever get gooey-eyed at the thought of a zombie that can't run, but the back-to-basics flesh-munchers in Resident Evil HD Remastered are simply adorable. Look at them, gamely shuffling towards silly, screaming Jill Valentine like they haven't a care in the world. It's enough to make you hug yourself, though don't do that - you'll drop your shotgun.
The deadliest game of keepy-uppy we've ever seen.
Imagine a world where global squabbles were settled though a game of footy. Forget 1984 or Brave New World, that's probably the most terrifying distopia I can envisage, and it's (kind of) the premise of a new game announced for Xbox One today.
Year One Survival Edition to include Breakdown and Lifeline DLC plus "entirely new content".
The original State of Decay will, in fact, come to Xbox One, despite hesitation on the subject from Undead Labs in January. Microsoft has announced a Year One Survival Edition, which comprises a 1080p-capable version of the original zombie survival sim plus its two expansion packs, Breakdown and Lifeline, and some brand new content.
Snappable media player, boot-to-TV and Party update roll out to the general public.
The latest Xbox One update is now available to all and sundry, a couple of days ahead of schedule. It allows users to boot up straight to TV, delete multiple Game DVR videos at once, save your Avatar Gamerpic to OneDrive and make use of new Party app functions, among other things.
Plus, the latest on Adanced Warfare, The Witcher 3, FIFA 15 and much more.
Dead Island 2's a strange case, a zombie game where the focus has switched onto the humans. That goes some way to explaining why our cover image features a couple of said sapiens literally booting their dead colleagues off of the front image. It's one of several clues as to how adoptive developer Yager (them of Spec Ops: The Line) are overhauling Deep Silver's series - the rest of which are included in our massive hands-on with the game.
Update 6 also includes bug fixes and makes Marked for Death permanent.
While it may seem counterintuitive, a new mode called Pilot Skirmish in Respawn's shooter Titanfall forces removes Titans entirely. You'll have to be on your A-game, as AI grunts and Spectres are also taken out in this pure pilot-versus-pilot mode.
Don't worry, it's only a couple of weeks.
Assassin's Creed: Unity will release a whole two weeks later than originally planned, Ubisoft has announced - it's now out on 11th November in the US and 13th November in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with details for other regions presumably to follow.
You'll have to pre-order through the Xbox Store, though.
So, how'd you like to fill your Xbox One hard drive with a huge chunk of game literal hours, minutes and/or seconds before you're actually able to play it? Then pre-order Destiny without further ado via the Xbox store.
Wax on, wax off, weapons free.
Classic Halo 2 map Lockout is the latest to be totally remastered for this year's Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which hits Xbox One on 11th November. Gamespot's published a few before and after screenshots for the map, which has been updated in subtle ways by Max Hoberman and the veteran Slayers at Certain Affinity.
Players "want to know that for the money that they're spending they're getting a 'full' game".
Visceral's general manager Steve Papoutsis feels there's plenty of mileage left in the idea of a single player campaign, despite console publisher enthusiasm for always-online or multiplayer-driven titles like Fable Legends, The Division and the forthcoming Destiny.
Demo only on Xbox One.
Starting from 16 September, you can download a demo of Playground Games' open world racer Forza Horizon 2, two weeks before it launches. However, the demo's only coming to Xbox One.
First of several packs inspired by current Doctor.
Ever try adding potassium to water during a chemistry lesson at school? Well, (a) how on Earth are you not dead, and (b) it's a very fine metaphor for the addition of Dr Who, the Harry Potter of tenureless academics, to Minecraft Xbox 360, the sexiest cube simulator since the invention of LEGO. The game's next Skin Pack will include a character inspired by the Twelfth Doctor (aka Peter Capaldi) and five other Doctors plus their sidekicks and well-known adversaries. You may scream hysterically now, if you choose.
