Get drunk and sing along, and it's just like you're in the game!.
The Inquisition tavern's jolly little songs aren't for everyone, but for those who love them (myself included) this is excellent news: they're all available for download completely free until the 9th February.
Sir Hammerlock's older sister ready to join your game tomorrow.
Remember Sir Hammerlock from the start of Borderlands 2? Well, turns out he has a sister. The wintry Lady Hammerlock is the star of the game's third DLC pack, set to arrive tomorrow.
Fairer loot, less grind in the upcoming House of Wolves.
You were probably feeling pretty good about that loot you got from overcoming the Vault of Glass, Destiny's first raid - at least until the DLC came along. The Dark Below added a vendor who sold better gear, practically invalidating the rewards for beating the first raid.
One's a big shadowy gargoyle thing, the other's, well, a golem.
Two new Killer Instinct fighters have been announced via the following trailer, and they're both entirely new to the series. The latest brawlers to be added as part of season 2 of the chunky fighting game are the killy Omen and instincty Golem - and you know what, I reckon they'll fit right in.
Though it could be Borderlands the Pre-Pre-Sequel or something.
PAX South is over now, but before everyone packed up their "woo"s and "yeaaaah"s, the Borderlands team (we'd call them the Borderlads, but that's not fair for the ladies on the team) had a couple more things up their robo-sleeves.
If everyone messes up their game launches, we'll never need pay for DLC again.
So the other day, boxed/physical/real/non-ephemeral copies of Dying Light were delayed outside the Americas, for reasons known only to Warner Bros and probably Chronos, the Greek god of time. Now, they've been given a new release date, which - boo - is a month later than the digital version.
April 28th if you live in the US, May 1st if you happen to live elsewhere.
State of Decay was a bit of a hit on Xbox 360, so much so that developers Undead Labs are giving it a bit of spit and polish and porting it to Xbox One soon. But how soon? Is late April/early May soon enough for you? No? Oh. Well that's when it's releasing. Sorry.
Via a fake news report and loads of in-game footage.
So Final Fantasy XV totally still exists, but we might be in for a pretty long wait before we get to Zoolander it up with Noctis and the gang in their goth sports car. Luckily, Vita port Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is on track for March 20th, bundled with a demo for the next mainline Final Fantasy.
Arya excited?.
Telltale's tense political thriller introduced a new side to an old story: the Forrester family, who are caught on the wrong side of the War of the Five Kings and forced to play the Game of Thrones. You know, the one where you win, or...something. I forget. You lose? Yeah, probably.
Sunset Overdrive! Dead Rising 3! Skyrim!.
This week, like every week, is all about the sweet, sweet deals, and if you've been holding out on buying either Sunset Overdrive or Dead Rising 3, you're in for a discounty treat. That's because this week's Deals with Gold has discounted both those games, plus others that I'm going to cruelly withhold for a couple of paragraphs.
A fast and furious glimpse of Ninja Theory's fancy port.
As good as it was, the original version of DmC: Devil May Cry felt a mite sluggish compared to previous games in the series, on account of its 30fps limit. Thankfully, that's being done away with for the Xbox One's DmC: Definitive Edition, which doubles the framerate to a cool 60fps, while adding a load of other extra gubbins in the process.
With a fancy new subtitle and minus the subscription fee.
The Elder Scrolls Online was always going to be a tough sell on consoles with a subscription fee attached - hell, that's likely one of the reasons it hasn't been doing so well on PC - so the news that it will soon be dropping the subscription model doesn't come as too massive a surprise.
Breaking newts: Battletoads toadally coming back, warts and all.
It's not Half Life 3 or Fallout 4 (get back, ye rabid masses, back) but it's definitely on gamers' lists everywhere, under the heading "Games I Haven't Played In Decades But I Still Think Are The Best Games Ever To Have Existed Ever".
Xbox app on Windows 10! Stream Xbox One games to Windows 10 devices! Cross-play!.
So that Windows 10 livestream we told you about earlier was actually quite exciting - once you'd made it past the hour and a bit of people saying the word 'devices' over and over again. When Phil Spencer came on stage, he announced a bunch of interesting new features for both Xbox One and Windows 10.
Plus Bill Baxton! Rose McGowan! Shane off the Walking Dead!.
Call of Duty has been doing the 'celebrities starring in Zombies mode' thing for a while now, so it should come as no surprise that Advanced Warfare's Exo Zombies mode will feature the digital likenesses of various famous people off the telly and films. Still: it does a bit.
Stunning 2D platformer coming to Xbox One soon. Plus: new footage!.
Ori and the Blind Forest - also known as Ori and the ooooohhhh purty - is coming to Xbox One (and PC) on the 11th of March. To coincide with the news, and to give people like me something to put in their articles, developers Moon Studios have released a new video chock-full of lovely in-game footage.
A puzzling adventure where you play as a cute flying robot.
Talawa Games' and Teotl Studios' Unmechanical received a warm welcome when it arrived on PC a couple of years ago, and now an 'Extended' version is set to appear on Xbox One in a little over a week.
Bundles Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel for Xbox One, plus all current DLC.
Gearbox have just announced that Borderlands 2, The Pre-Sequel, and around eight tonnes of DLC are coming to Xbox One as Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.
One of the hardest games ever, bested in under 50 minutes.
A speedrunner by the name of Kahmul78 has set a new world record for the original Dark Souls, clearing the game in under 50 minutes without relying on a trick that skips its hardest parts.
