Soul Calibur 2 HD Online, Lost Planet 2 and Farming Simulator also discounted.
Xbox Live's Ultimate game sale continues into its second day, and whilst some titles have disappeared, a few new ones have taken their place. Have a gander at the list below, courtesy of Major Nelson's blog.
And (cough) some other versions as well.
Kojima Productions and Konami have released a new Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes video, which compares the current to the next generation versions of the game. That includes StayPlations Three and Four, yes. You may wish to tape cardboard over their portions of the screen, for the sake of the children.
And five more cars - but there's a catch.
Behold, Road America has been added to Forza Motorsport 5 for zero money, and there are also five more cars to race. However, while everyone scores the track, you need to own the Car Pass to get behind the virtual wheel of the motors.
"On the creative side it never influences us at all.".
Earlier this week it was confirmed that Eidos Montreal's Thief reboot runs at 900p and 30 frames a second on Xbox One, cue the usual wailing and gnashing of teeth from pixel counters. Speaking to OXM at a preview event this afternoon, art director Nick Cantin and lead level designer Daniel Windfeld Schmidt discussed reaction to the announcement, suggesting that the furore over 1080p will die down as the new hardware beds in.
Take-Two forms new team to focus on digital-only narrative games.
Bioshock Infinite developer Irrational Games is to close, studio boss Ken Levine has announced. 15 members of the team will stay on to form a "smaller, more entrepreneurial endeavour" at parent company Take-Two; the rest will be let go.
Beta players hit connection problems with certain models.
In what's probably not the most surprising news you'll read all year, players of the on-going Titanfall Xbox One beta have run into a few technical problems. It's almost like this isn't the final version of the game, or something. According to Respawn programmer Jon Shiring, certain internet routers may mysteriously block your connection. The developer is still figuring out how to address this.
"Each play style requires different skills, and all are valid in Titanfall.".
Titanfall is designed to appeal to a wide variety of player types, according to Respawn Entertainment's Fairfax "Mackey" McCandlish - not because Respawn wants to sell the game to less skilled players, but because it feels the game is more entertaining for everybody when there's a range of skills and styles at work.
Angry Birds Star Wards and Dragon Ball Z also make the cut.
You may have already spied our news piece about Xbox Live's mahoosive Ultimate Game Sale, which is currently slashing prices on Batman: Arkham City, Mass Effect, Portal 2, Asura's Wrath and other top titles. It's entirely possible that none of those games take your fancy, in which case, we got your back, bro.
Revised Creative interface, new Trading and Anvil interfaces.
Ho, adventurer: an expanse of blackened rock and dust unfolds before your aching feet. It can only be - whisper it - a Slow News Day. Or at least, a slow news morning. Let's distract ourselves from the immense, unappeasable void with the thought of the next Minecraft Xbox 360 update, which appears to be polishing up nicely.
No more missing grass physics! Woo!.
EA and DICE have released yet another Battlefield 4 patch, this time for the Xbox 360 version of the game. As ever, you may experience a bit of multiplayer downtime while the patch goes out to Xbox Live users and the servers are updated.
Valid till 25th February.
This weeks's deal of the week ramps up from last week, with huge price cuts on some of the biggest Xbox 360 games in addition to the regular deals on the store, including Batman: Arkham City, Fable III, Portal 2 and more. Guardians of Middle-Earth is a staggering 93% off, too.
Five maps, a new mode and a new character.
Microsoft has coughed up a bit fo on forthcoming Ryse: Son of Rome DLC pack Mars' Chosen, which adds a Survival Mode, five maps and a new character skin to the multiplayer. Like your gladiating extra-gruelling? You'll probably like the sound of this, then.
Get Ryse cheap from 18th to 24th February.
Microsoft is toying with the crazy original concept of lower prices for digital games, studio manager Mike Ybarra has Tweeted. The first of these experiments consists of Ryse: Son of Rome for $39.99 or the "equivalent" in the UK, which is apparently "far better than the used price at Gamestop and others."
Users report issue, Microsoft details fix.
Since time began, mankind's software engineers have operated according to one, unwritten Law: thou shalt not update a videogame or console without causing at least one additional problem in the process. So it has proved with this weekend's Xbox One update, which is reportedly inflicting black screens on a number of downloaders.
Deals on games, Xbox Live subscriptions and more.
You know what I love? Buying new stuff. But hey, you know what I really hate? Paying full price for it. There's something to be said for getting a wee bit of a discount, no matter how small it seems in the grand scheme of things. A dollar or two saved here and there? It all adds up.
Fewer jaggies? Check out these Titanfall screens.
This weekend's Xbox One update appears to have removed a graphics filter that automatically sharpens up sub-1080p titles - thus reducing the frequency of "jaggies" on the edges of objects. The results are hardly dramatic, but appreciated all the same.
Fixes include manual storage management and "significant performance and stability improvements".
After several delays, the Xbox One UI patch began making its way to consoles over the weekend. Huzzah for the return of the battery indicator - welcome back, old friend.
Filenames and images of loading screens uncovered.
Morning all! Having fun with the two maps available in the Titanfall Xbox One beta? You'll be pleased to hear that there are 13 more to come - or so says a NeoGAF user who's been mining the beta code for telltale assets and filenames.
Shows off the new kid, Jew class and basic battle mechanics.
It's also hilariously NSFW. In this near 15-minute long video, you'll see how South Park: The Stick of Truth plays and get a sense of its presentation. Spoiler: it looks just like the TV show.
On your marks, get set...
Rare's Kinect Sports Rivals was originally intended to be an Xbox One launch title that wasn't ready in time, slipping to a "Spring 2014" release while a free "Preseason" was made available to tide early adopters until then. Good news however, as this week a new date has finally been set.
