Tweet from Microsoft's Phil Spencer indicates beta launch imminent.
Creative types at the ready - we already knew that the Xbox One beta for Team Dakota's impressive game creation suite Project Spark was due for launch sometime this month, but it seems it may be even closer than we think if a tweet from Microsoft's Phil Spencer is anything to go by.
Two new modes unveiled for ninja reboot ahead of launch.
Get your slicing fingers at the ready, because Capcom have announced the launch date for their upcoming downloadable reboot of ninja Strider Hiryu's adventures for Xbox One and Xbox 360. It's not too long to wait - in fact, it's due to land on the 19th of this very month.
"I believe people will be satisfied with the "Play time" and will not stress the "Clear Time"".
Earlier this week, it came to the attention of the gaming world at large that the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V prequel Ground Zeroes would reportedly be only around two hours long. Responding to the outcry, Hideo Kojima hasn't outright refuted the claims, but has moved to reassure fans that the time you'll spend with Ground Zeroes will be longer than it takes you to complete the main story.
Open world zombie game also teases an 11th February reveal.
There must be something in the games development water this week. No sooner do we post a story about Evolve tantalising a reveal for next week when Techland's open world zombie survival game Dying Light releases a similar tease filled video for the same date.
Carver way back to the start of the Far Cry series.
When you think of exotic getaway destinations, what comes to mind? Sparkling tropical beaches? Lush green jungles? Weird mutant hybrids waiting to tear your face off? If you said yes to the last one you might be interested to hear that the original Far Cry is coming to the Xbox 360 next week.
First footage promised for the 11th Febuary.
The good folk of Turtle Rock Studios have made a lot of noise as of late about their upcoming four-versus-one monster hunting shooter Evolve. But despite giving an exclusive info blowout to a popular US magazine - as well as, bafflingly, the pre-order bonuses - the rest of us haven't seen much of the game in action. Thankfully, this may all be about to change.
Traveller's Tales are back for another of their block-rockin' feats.
Given that it was only three months since the last Lego game, you'd think Traveller's Tales might be taking a rest before the next one. However, with an eagerly awaited Lego Movie due out imminently, they can't put their feet up just yet.
But demand for current gen hardware is "weaker than expected".
Sales of next generation games and consoles have exceeded Activision Blizzard's expectations, offsetting weaker than anticipated sales of Xbox 360 and PS3 software during the firm's Q4 2013. That's according to Kristin Southey, senior vice president of investor relations, via SeekingAlpha.
We "want to make our own contributions to the franchise.".
Creative Assembly is free to change aspects of the Alien license for the sake of a better game, lead audio designer Mark Angus has told fans over on the official forums. The revelation accompanies a handful of new, extra-unnerving screenshots, which show dead androids and areas aboard the Sevastopol space station. Is that a bit of tubing on the ceiling there? Or is it... something else?
Release date imminent?.
You can expect more news on the Titanfall beta front next week, Respawn has declared via Twitter. How will you access it? Well, you don't need to pre-order, nor will you need to be a member of EA's Origin digital platform, but you will need to own an Xbox One or PC - there's no Xbox 360 beta. Beyond that, we're in the dark.
Activision will "expand the universe for years to come".
In just a handful of months, my fellow star-gazers, we'll be blowing holes in all manner of exotic extra-terrestrial fauna. Destiny's highly anticipated public beta will take place this summer, Activision has announced, narrowly ahead of the game's 9th September release date for Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Not quite "early 2014", then. Ah well, a few more weeks won't kill you.

Sledgehammer Games - home to Dead Space creators Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey - will develop this year's "highly innovative" Call of Duty, Activision has announced in its Q4 2013 earnings call.
"The game looks great, and it's on track".
During an Activision Blizzard earnings conference call last night, in which the company's management discussed its Q4 2013 financial results, ActiBlizz CEO Bobby Kotick took the opportunity to talk up Destiny, "our new game from Bungie, which has the potential to be our next billion dollar franchise." Strong words, Bobby.
Xbox One version unaffected.
The Xbox 360 version of Respawn's upcoming multiplayer shooter, Titanfall, has been delayed until March 25 in North America, and March 28 in Europe and Australia. However, the Xbox One and PC versions are still on track.
Flying onto consoles on 30th April.
You know that feeling when a game you're really looking forward to but had all but forgotten about is back on the radar and closer to release than ever? That.
Portfolio digging unearths some cryptic asides.
My quest to expose Microsoft's secret Xbox One projects continues with yet another tilt at LinkedIn, redeemer of slow news days. There's much to mull over, and absolutely all of it should be taken with a pinch of paprika. Why paprika? I've run out of salt.
EA reacts to upset over last-gen-only 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.
Irked by EA's decision to release EA SPORTS 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil for Xbox 360 and PS3 only? Don't worry, says EA - as a (proud?) FIFA 14 Xbox One owner, you'll have access to "a range of engaging content, promotions and tournament within FIFA Ultimate Team" which allows players to "experience the World Cup in unique and fun ways".
A smarter, prettier breed of sniping game.
Sniper Elite 3 isn't just a prettier, sandier and gorier incarnation of Sniper Elite 2, according to Rebellion - it's akin to a survival sim, in which players must keep careful tabs on lead character Karl Fairburne if they're to prevail. You might also want to be mindful of all those Nazis, too.
First trailer, release date and gameplay details.
EA has whisked the wrappers off this year's inevitable FIFA World Cup tie-in, the elegantly titled EA SPORTS 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil. It's out 17th April in Europe and 15th April in North America for Xbox 360 and PS3. Xbox One and PS4? They don't get a look in, seemingly.
"We will have more details on this in the future.".
Respawn's Titanfall will support SmartGlass, Microsoft's tablet/mobile crossover app, as revealed by the official Twitter account. Quite what the functionality involves remains to be seen, however.
