After a face-palming performance in the first round of beta stress tests for Street Fighter V, not unlike raising your hands in victory before you realize that you've made a very fatal flaw, Capcom has announced its plans for its second round of stress tests on Capcom Unity.
Starting today, from 16:00-00:00 BST, and ending tomorrow also from 16:00-0:00 BST, players in Europe will have access to the first regional test for Street Fighter V. Once they "are confident with the results from this test, [they] will share the date times for North American and Asia's region specific tests."
Nintendo's biggest release of 2015, Super Mario Maker, comes out in just a few weeks. I've been playing it this week for review, but that doesn't mean I have access to all of the content in the game. In fact, I've only seen a small selection of the creation tools. Nintendo utilizes a system in which new creation tools unlock each day - it makes sense in theory, but the actual practice of unlocking content in a set order both helps and hinders player creators.
Games don't get much bigger than Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. This is a game that brings an eruption of discussion every time new media or information is released, and for good reason. It's a game that has been designed with care by one of the industry's greatest game creators, and it shows from its gameplay to its presentation.

There are a multitude of reasons that you should play Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain no matter how familiar you are with the Metal Gear universe. Below we'll go over why it's a game you don't want to miss.
Plenty of RPG fans are excited about the release of Fallout 4 later this year, but the announcement at E3 wasn't met with unanimous praise. In fact, there's been a surprising amount of criticism from fans, a topic addressed in a recent interview with Bethesda President of PR and Marketing Pete Hines.
Alien: Isolation is a game that requires careful movement and patience, two mechanics I don't excel at in most games. I had a hard enough time playing the game on normal difficult last year, and here I am cranking it up to nightmare difficulty for this episode of Challenge Accepted. Let's just say I die quite a few times, including one seemingly straightforward section with no androids or aliens to speak of.
Microsoft dropped a major bombshell during its E3 2015 media briefing when it revealed that Xbox 360 games would be supported on Xbox One by way of backwards compatibility. While currently only available to those in the company's preview program, widespread functionality for all Xbox One owners will be available this November.
Remember Nintendo's purported sleep-monitoring device? Yeah, the one the company filed a patent for not too long ago? Well, according to a couple analysts, there's a good chance the product will never see store shelves, as Nintendo opts to focus on mobile games and its new NX platform.
I'll get right to the goods:
This one is better because it has more Jessica.

For today only, Microsoft is offering one of its best Xbox One deals ever exclusively on the Xbox Store. All six of its currently available bundles are being sold with a $50 gift card. In the case of its two most popular bundles, this means that consumers can buy an Xbox One with two AAA games and a $50 gift card for only $349, rivaling Target's deal during Black Friday 2015.
One of Microsoft's greatest successes with the Xbox One is how it has listened to fan feedback to refine the operating system with better mechanics and more features. It's done this with what it calls the Xbox One Preview Program, one that has tens of thousands of participants who test and offer feedback for upcoming updates. It's also something that Sony hasn't necessarily tried to equal... until now.
Just to remind everyone of the greatness that has been the post-launch content for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, CD Projekt RED would like to remind everyone that all 16 pieces of DLC for the game is indeed free and available for download on every platform (PS4, Xbox One, PC).
Remember Goosebumps? I do. I had about four of these books (not sure what happened to them, mom) and while many of them were fairly straightforward ordeals, I was fascinated by the choose-your-own-adventure books where you can decide between two options at the end of a section and flip to the appropriate page. It's actually more complicated than some video games nowadays.
Another year, another BlizzCon. As November draws near, the anticipation mounts for the two day event. Gamers can't wait for the games, the tournaments, and most importantly: the swag.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III doesn't come out until November 6, but the multiplayer beta begins on PlayStation 4 this week. I was lucky enough to get a beta code a day early and thus we have this episode of GR Live in which I play a handful of matches and display my amazing Call of Duty skills. Just kidding, I struggle in pretty much every match. But I do pull off some stylish kills along the way.
As of yesterday Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is playable by anyone with a PS4. As the gates have opened hundreds of thousands of players have poured onto the online servers offering their first hands-on experience of Treyarch's vision for Call of Duty in 2015.

After several hours of action both the positives and negatives of the game have presented themselves. Some players, including myself, aren't sold on the concept. With Halo 5: Guardians releasing a week prior, it's a tough sell for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
Rejoice, Kojima fans! Unlike Konami's gamescom trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, it looks like the next video for the game will actually be directed by the franchise mastermind himself.
Halo 5: Guardians won't feature a Big Team Battle multiplayer mode when the game launches this October.
"Warzone is the evolution of BTB, on steroids," studio head Josh Holmes said on Twitter in response to a fan asking about the mode's inclusion (or lack thereof) in Guardians. Rest assured, however, that good things do come to those who wait, as Holmes added that they'll "also be adding a more traditional BTB mode post-launch."
Sadly, that isn't the only disappointing news for Halo purists, as not too long ago, 343 Industries also confirmed that its upcoming Xbox One exclusive won't feature split-screen support in any way, shape, or form.
This year's BlizzCon is quickly approaching. Scheduled for November 6th and 7th, it will once again be host in Anaheim, California where tens of thousands of fans will meet to celebrate Blizzard and its award-winning IPs.
Until Dawn, the upcoming PS4 horror title from Supermassive Games, feels like a throwback to the 90's era of FMV games, providing the player with high-consequence binary choices and multiple paths/endings as they proceed through its over-the-top story.
This Chinese console Ouye, likely named after the Ouya just to confuse people, has appeared on the JD.com which is essentially China's version of Kickstarter. Just one look at the image above and you'll notice that this blatant rip-off has an Xbox One controller tied to a PlayStation 4. No need for comparison images here, folks.
