Will you be at the Tokyo Game Show on Sept. 17? Well, whether you will or not, get a load of these floor maps so that you can see the size and location of everyone's booth, as well as a good look at the USSR's most underrated territory.
Super Mario Maker came out a few days ago, and as I note in my review, it's a special game that allows Wii U owners to realize their game design fantasies. Players crafted all kinds of inventive courses on the review servers, and now that the game has been released to the public, it'll tout even more fun and twisted Mario levels. I'm sure plenty of you created and shared courses over the weekend with friends, but now it's time to share your creations with us... for a special prize!
Back at E3, Microsoft proclaimed this year marks the "greatest games lineup" in Xbox history, and by all accounts the Big M is probably right. With exclusives like Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Motorsport 6, and Rise of the Tomb Raider all coming only to Xbox One this fall, there's no doubt Microsoft has Sony beat when it comes to software this holiday season.
Nintendo has announced that Tatsumi Kimishima will succeed the late Satoru Iwata as company president.
In case you don't already know, Kimishima was the president of Nintendo of America back in 2002, where he retained that role until Reggie Fils-Aime took his position in 2006. He also spent time as CFO of The PokeĂłmon Company. He will assume his new role as president of Nintendo on September 16
When Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians was announced in January 2014, it sounded too good to be true. In an industry dominated by AAA action games and shooters one studio, Playdek, was willing to take a risk with making a game in one of the least common genres in the industry: Strategy RPG.
So, remember how I told you I bought some DLC for the first time? Well, yeah, I ah... oh, you might say cracked and bought some more. I think that'll be the last time; I don't think I'm actually addicted. This time, I went into the Persona universe and added another heroin...e. The final piece of Persona 4: Dancing All Night DLC adds Hatsune Miku, the dearest waifu of a great many gamers worldwide.
FromSoftware has confirmed that Dark Souls III is slated to release March 24 in Japan for PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version and international localizations have not yet been confirmed, but keep in mind that Bloodborne released on pretty much the same day worldwide, to great success. That's not to say Dark Souls III will do the same, but it could be under consideration.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain marks an important transition for the series. Previous MGS entries allowed freedom within defined spaces, while MGSV makes the shift to an open-world sandbox design. The linearity of past games disappears, and Hideo Kojima's MGS swan song thrives on the lack of constraints. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain feels like an open-world sandbox game in which the game actually plays like a virtual sandbox. There aren't a ton of sidequests scattered over every square inch of the map. Instead, every situation in the game promotes creativity and thus the game shines in its open world design.
Japanese video game trailers have been on a roll lately. First with the Life Is Strange trailer, and now with this hilarious trailer for Destiny: The Taken King. Coin laundries? Washing machine outtakes? What's not to love?
Final Fantasy fans are displeased with the art style, to put it lightly, of the upcoming port of Final Fantasy V on Steam which releases on September 24. It boasts "enhanced graphics" but is based on the mobile version of the game.
SPOILER ALERT: Concepts will be discussed below that don't directly reference story pieces in the game, but do talk about game structure and design.
It was unfathomable when Hideo Kojima had a dramatic break-up with Konami. Working together for 28 years didn't seem to matter as both the legendary Metal Gear creator and Japanese publisher split paths in a way that left gamers in shock.
It's no secret that amiibo have proven to be incredibly lucrative for Nintendo, sucking in longtime fans who've got a weakness for cute toys and a penchant for collecting. As such, it should come as no surprise to you that the Big N has sold a boatload of its NFC figurines to folks in the United States.
PlayStation 4 was the top-selling console in the United States during the month of August, the NPD Group has revealed.
According to Sony's official statement (via GameSpot), PS4 was not only the best-selling console in North America last month, it also came out on top with regard to software sales. In fact, Madden NFL 16, which was August's best-selling piece of game software, sold best on Sony's home console.

I'm sure to no one's surprise, Minecraft continues to sell incredibly well in the States, coming in second place. A handful of platform exclusives made the list as well, with Gears of War: Ultimate Edition coming in third, Rare Replay placing sixth, and Until Dawn nipping at its heels in seventh.
It looks to be a big Fall for Microsoft with the releases of Halo 5: Guardians and Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox One, but the system itself also stands out as a selling point for the holiday season. In fact, it's getting a big update this November.
The landscape of game videos on YouTube has been in turmoil for a while now. Companies constantly take down videos for copyright infringement whether they deserve it or not. The process of disputing those copyright claims proves to be needlessly complex and often times futile. But Nintendo's understanding of the YouTube culture stands out more so than other companies. It takes down videos on a far more frequent basis, and the latest victim drives home the ridiculousness of the situation.

Fallout 4 is arriving in just two months. Wait, what? That fast?!
Well, body-readiness or not, the fine folks at Bethesda have a tutorial video series on each of Fallout's signature S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats and how they will impact your character in Fallout 4. And today's lesson is on the first letter in the acronym: 'S' for Strength.
Steam is slowly but surely amassing an army of Final Fantasy titles, and this month it'll grow even larger with the arrival of one of RPG's greatest classics.
