Japanese rail shooter Gal Gun is getting a sequel this summer for PlayStation 4 and Vita, called Gal Gun: Double Peace.
This is about shooting girls with a special pheromone gun. And then, of course, pulling off panty shots. In North America, it seems like there's a prevailing soldier fantasy... in Japan, is it... like, is it just that this is the thing that everyone wants to do? Is this the wish fulfillment we need the most? I don't know. Here are screenshots, and the opening movie, in that order:

The game comes out in Japan on Aug. 6 and in North America probably never.
Sega has announced that the Yakuza series has sold 7.5 million games worldwide. This tally includes the six canonical numbered games, the two samurai-era spinoffs, the two PSP spinoffs, the HD re-release pack of 1&2, and the zombie apocalypse spinoff. Of the 11 or 12 Yakuza games, five have gone stateside, and another is on the way. The five localized games do not include either of the two PS4 games.
E3 2015, which is taking place June 16-18 this year, is arriving fast (so soon?), and there are already quite a few shake-ups. In the absence of a Nintendo press conference, Bethesda and Square Enix are having their first E3 press conference, in addition to the new PC Gaming Show sponsored by PC Gamer magazine and AMD. We already know that Nintendo won't be showing The Legend of Zelda for Wii U nor anything about the NX console, and the usual mainstay Sega won't have a booth at E3 2015 this year.
Super Metroid has its run last week, and more recent HH moments have been spent revisiting the other have of "Metroidvania," by way of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
It's brought on a new appreciation for good sprite artwork, and that appreciation has led to harder eyerolling when assclowns who don't know What It Is gripe about the Bloodstained thing. I've seen idiots claiming that it should have been a free browser game. Are we still, in 2015, this generally uninformed about how game development works?
At the end of April, Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroine Infinite Duel arrived in Japanese arcades. Marvelous has now confirmed via an official Japanese website launch that itÄ‚Ë€â„Ës also bound for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Set for a winter release in Japan, XSeed games has already jumped in and confirmed a North American localization is planned within the same season. That's a pretty quick turnaround.
The 2D fighter which feature a cameo by Homura from Senran Kagura.Players on both systems can enjoy online multiplayer, even against players on the other console.

The arcade version is not likely coming to North America, because arcades are pretty dead there.

There will be a Lord of the Fallen 2, but co-developer of the original game Deck 13 Interactive won't be involved. Instead, the company is working on a new sci-fi RPG.
According to GameSpot, the currently unnamed title is being developed for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Deck 13 is teaming up with Focus Home Interactive to deliver the game in 2017.

Carey became famous for her roles in films such as Wisegirls and You Don't Mess With the Zohan. She also apparently enjoyed some level of underground musical success. Other facts about Mariah Carey:
TMZ reports that it's a seven-figure deal, which is lunch money for the Game of War guys, who are raking in a million dollars a day.
Sony's console took down Xbox One as the number one selling console in May, according to the latest report from the NPD Group.
During the month of April, Microsoft's console stole the top spot from PS4 in the United States. Sadly for the Xbox manufacturer, that victory appears to have been short lived.
Sorry, Xbox One gamers. It looks like two of the Big M's exciting exclusives won't be shown next week. That's right, both Crackdown and Platinum Games' Scalebound won't be appearing at E3 2015.

[Original] The closed beta for the free-to-play MMOFPS PlanetSide 2 on PlayStation 4 is ending soon, so we're kicking up our normal Haiku Friday to, well, NOW!
Koji Igarashi's Kickstarter for the Castlevania spiritual successor Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has been going about as well as anyone on the marketing team should have expecting. I can safely say this not just because of how quickly its minimum goals were met, but because with 20 hours to go (as of the time of this writing), it's very close to reaching its absolute highest stretch goal.
When Bethesda unveiled the debut trailer for Fallout 4, my head exploded with the force of a Fat Man mini-nuke.
Now that we've had a long first look and analysis of the post-apocalyptic Bostonian landscape, we see how Bethesda is pushing the graphics and the animation work to another level. Two points on my wishlist for features in Fallout 4 would have been more colors and a visit back to the past (and not in that black-and-white Tranquility Lane quest from Fallout 3), but I think can confidently cross them off right now.
First off, my apologies for the short episode. Right in the middle of a Splatoon match my laptop crashed on me, thus ending the stream. Apparently I was improving too much with charge weapons for the computer to handle it.
Devil's Third, the upcoming action game from Tomonobu Itagaki and Valhalla Game Studios, has had a troublesome development cycle. But now the game has a release date, at least in some territories.
