Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward is a very large expansion consisting of a variety of new features and content. To help give you a better idea of what it's all about, I've compiled a list of 20 things you might not know. You can read about it in the gallery below.
The folks over at Electronic Arts and DICE have released a new image of Star Wars Battlefront, teasing the title's gameplay reveal next week at E3.
The image, seen above, showcases a firefight on Hoth. If that is any indication of how the game might actually look during play, EA can take my money right now.
Console sales for Nintendo's 3D-powered platform have climbed past the 15 million mark in the United States. As such, the 3DS is now the eighth Nintendo platform to reach this milestone.
Every year I dread look forward to the Steam Summer sale, and it's that time of the year again. Let's increase those backlogs people!
The sale begins today and lasts until June 21. Yes, that means it takes place during E3. What better way to celebrate upcoming titles than purchasing old ones at reduced prices.
Multiplayer shooters thrive off of more content—more maps, more guns, more modes, the list goes on and on. It provides the core player base variety and choice in an otherwise repetitive process. You have to figure the average person who spends hours upon hours with a single multiplayer game repeats familiar scenarios countless times. Thus, the new Battlefield Hardline expansion pack Criminal Activity aims to bring more content to the multiplayer-focused shooter. I spent some hands-on time with the upcoming expansion, though I question whether the new content is enough to entice anyone other than diehard fans.
There's been a lot of "news" about The Last Guardian lately. I put that in "quotation marks" because it's not really news so much as rumors. We don't know if The Last Guardian is happening.
The Sonic Boom franchise had an inauspicious launch. With both the Cartoon Network television series and the video game launching at the same time, it wasnÄ‚Ë€â„Ët clear what was what. The Wii U and 3DS games were meant to be prequels, but players still wondered why the villain of the game wasnÄ‚Ë€â„Ët in the television show.
[Original] Listing out all of the games that will be at any E3, let alone E3 2015, is like chasing a moving target. Sometimes publishers and developers will discretely outline their lineup of games at the convention, and sometimes they don't. And even if they announce those games, they may have secret games under wraps that aren't a part of their official lineup... or games they are only showing to people behind closed doors... or games that may show up at the very last minute.
Dark Daring Damn Delightful.

The tale of a vengeful detective searching for answers after the murder of a loved one isn't exactly what I think of when I imagine unique and innovative storytelling, but somehow D4 is able to make me rethink that. The main focus of the game is David Young who lost his memory after his wife was gunned down and somehow this has given him the power to go into the past via his bathtub... Seriously, just stay with me on this one.
Development Director Ben Jones pitched Into the Stars to me in a very straightforward and simple way, saying of his Fugitive-Games four-man-team, "We'd all made military shooters for years and wanted to get back to the kind of game that got us into wanting to make games. The pitch is: It's
Halo 5: Guardians is the July cover story for Game Informer, which means fans get to learn more about Master Chief's next adventure. The single-player campaign and co-op in particular are the biggest points of interest.

It's been 13 years since Ratchet & Clank's first appearance on the PlayStation 2. Now Insomniac is revealing more details on the upcoming reboot of the series, simply titled Ratchet & Clank.
You may like the idea of Marshawn Lynch being featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, or Nathan Fillion reprising his role as Gunnery Sergeant Edward Buck in Halo 5: Guardians. You may be surprised to learn that celebrity appearances in video games is nothing new to the video game industry, it's just becoming more common with AAA titles.
Koei Tecmo's Zelda-themed Dynasty Warriors mash-up is coming to Nintendo 3DS, the company announced. You can see the portable version of Hyrule Warriors in action in the leaked announcement video (via NeoGAF) above.

I had planned to go all the way up through modern day with this, but I... grandpas tend to get pretty talkative and never have been the best at getting right to the point, you know? I end up getting from the mid 90's to 2000 in console hockey, and cover the early to mid 2000's for portable hockey.
If you missed the first round of hockey video games (covering about 1988 to like 1997), it's right here. Recommended viewing.
E3 2015 is right around the corner, and rumor has it that Sony will finally re-reveal The Last Guardian during its press conference.
According to a report by The Guardian:
Yes, we know it has been in development hell since 2007, but we have it on very good authority that this will be the year that Team Ico finally presents its follow-up to much loved classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Whether it'll bear any relation to the game last shown at E3 in 2009 is anyone's guess.
However, it's important to note that Sony has yet to say anything about a re-reveal during this year's expo, so temper those expectations. That said, do you think we'll finally get a release date and gameplay reveal for this highly-anticipated PlayStation exclusive?
The third entry in the Dark Souls series is currently in development with a targeted release of "early 2016."
This news comes by way of a piece of leaked promotional art (released by IGN) for this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. Give it a look below.
The leak of this promotional art comes hot off the heals of a report by way of VG247 that the game will be announced during Sony's E3 press conference.
Sometimes I forget that Gran Turismo is a Japanese game. I guess it's the lack of (insert your favorite stereotype because you're an asshole), hahaha am I right?
...
No. But anyway, Play-Asia.com is doing this thing with Gran Turismo 6 where they just give that shit away with any order of a physical game. I think it has to cost over 50 bones (or 405,745 kip). Or, if you just want the Turismo, they're straight up selling it for $7. And then when you either buy the $7 game or buy something and get your free GT6, you get entered in a drawing of some sort:
