It's been eight years since The Witcher came out, but its history goes beyond that. In fact, the game was originally developed as a point-and-click RPG.
Ryszard Chojnowski, project lead for the first game in the series, posted a video detailing the history of the game. In the video he shows a very early alpha demo of The Witcher in which the game takes an entirely different direction.

Ashley Johnson, the voice of Ellie in The Last of Us, is joining the cast of Telltale Games' Tales from the Borderlands.
The studio's Laura Perusco confirmed Johnson's involvement in a post on Twitter. Following her post, Telltale's Job J Stauffer replied with a message of his own, reaffirming her involvement while also noting that she's been cast as a "very core character."

The Repopulation, a new MMORPG from developer Above and Beyond Technologies, aims to mix traditional genre conventions with unique sandbox elements. It's an ambitious project, and one that now has a release window: Q4 2015.
Visceral Games plans to release an expansion pack for Battlefield Hardline in the near future, and specific details on the upcoming add-on have been revealed.
According to a new post on the official website, Battlefield Hardline: Criminal Activity adds quite a bit of content to the game. The full list includes:

Two new ammunition types for specific weapons
A new gadget
Three new weapons

Electronic Arts and developer Ghost Games revealed the next entry in the Need for Speed franchise this morning. It was previously thought to be another Underground game, but it's actually a "full reboot."
During the latest Iwata Asks, Nintendo's president and CEO chatted with the development studio behind the upcoming third-person shooter game, Splatoon.
In the discussion, several tidbits of interesting information were revealed, including the fact that when the game was first shown off at last year's E3, it was only 10 percent complete. "At E3, we only had one weapon," Nintendo developer Tsubasa Sakaguchi told Satoru Iwata. "We only had one stage, and only a mock-up of the sequence. So when we returned from E3, our big issue was figuring out how to turn all that into a product."
As I say at the start of the video, I was surprised I hadn't yet done an episode of Challenge Accepted with Spelunky. It's challenging, provides quality entertainment in the form of dumb player mistakes, and is simply a lot of fun to play. I think all of that comes through in this episode of Challenge Accepted, even though I make a few ghost-related mistakes along the way.

The game is set to come out in North America and Europe later in 2015 and takes place in between the two Danganronpa games already available.
Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida broke some good news for Bloodborne fans. Responding to DLC questions, @yosp tweeted:
"So I have been asked by many people if we are making DLC for Bloodborne. I can sayhellip; An expansion is coming. fo later this year."
E3 looms in the distance, but is that too quick a time to hear news about this expansion, so soon after the confirmation? Also, people misspeak sometimes, so we don't yet know if "expansion" means a full-sized expansion pack like we got used to in previous generations or just some DLC pieces that technically "expand" a game but use the word in a slightly different way. Was The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt downgraded from its original debut build in 2013? That's the question that gamers have been discussing fervently for the past couple weeks. Although how much of a difference there is between the early alpha and final build is still up for debate, there is no more arguing about whether or not there was a downgrade of some sort, because CD Projekt Red has confirmed it.
