I have a personal attachment to the classic gaming scene. IÄ‚Ë€â„Ëve been a (broke, but still trying) collector of games since 1999, when I would save the quarters and dimes of my lunch money to hit the local Funcoland for new games at a dollar or less a pop. IÄ‚Ë€â„Ëve always wanted something "new" to play, no matter the age.
In 2010, Keiji Inafune—creator of Mega Man, Onimusha, and Dead Rising—left CAPCOM after he was unable to fulfill a personal dream project. In 2013 he took to Kickstarter to seek funds for an evolution of the Mega Man idea, with Mighty No. 9! Check out what we know about this title, nebulously dated for Spring 2015! [Latest word is that Deep Silver is in charge of publishing it in September. ~Ed. Nick]

The $40 season pass includes six months worth of content, which means it lasts until the end of the year. A tweet from the official game page says the DLC touts additional "story missions, super-villains, and more." Warner Bros. went on to note that Batmobile skins, character skins, challenge maps, and race tracks are also included in the season pass.
May, as it is the month before E3, doesn't have too many releases, which is why it's perfect for CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3. I haven't played any of the Witcher games yet (still in my stack of shame), but even I'm psyched to explore its massive world and stand in awe at Geralt's facial hair on ultra settings. Ooo...

It isn't common that you see a high budget racing simulator hit the market, especially these days when Gran Turismo games are as rare as flying unicorns. So, it goes without saying that racing enthusiasts are excited to see what will become of Project CARS, a game that vowed to be true to the spirit of racing during its crowd-funding campaign. Arriving May 7th in the United States, it won't be long until we find out.

Developer Codemasters announced a new Overlord game last week, but the company is best known for the Dirt series. Well, Codemasters revealed Dirt Rally earlier today and then promptly released it on Steam Early Access.
The announcement of paid mod support on Steam last week was met with plenty of skepticism, so Valve head Gabe Newell participated in a Reddit AMA to help alleviate concerns.
First off, Newell explained the reasoning behind Valve's decision to introduce paid mods to the Steam workshop.
Our view of Steam is that it's a collection of useful tools for customers and content developers. With the Steam workshop, we've already reached the point where the community is paying their favorite contributors more than they would make if they worked at a traditional game developer. We see this as a really good step. The option of MOD developers getting paid seemed like a good extension of that.
He also clarified that the 75/25 revenue split for modders in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim isn't decided by Valve. Game developers set the percentages on a game-by-game basis.
The release of Batman: Arkham Knight is just a couple weeks away, and Rocksteady has released a new trailer that emphasizes a potentially exciting new feature.

Horror in recession
I remember in the late 90's it felt like I was overwhelmed with great horror games. The original Silent Hill stands as one of the best of the genre and Resident Evil showed how horror can be infused with exciting action, There was also Clock Tower, Dino Crisis, System Shock, Alone in the Dark, and Square's uniquely fantastic Parasite Eve. Each of these games were memorable, shaping high expectations for years to come.
