Triad Wars is an odd game. Billed as an online multiplayer action-RPG set within the Sleeping Dogs universe (though not a sequel to Sleeping Dogs, an announcement which many were disappointed by), it's currently in closed beta and I spent enough time with it for me to discover that itÄ‚Ë€â„Ës not actually a multiplayer game at all. At least, not really.
I've about wrapped up Theatrhythm Dragon Quest and will post a review on this here site soon (I know it's been a while). It's a good little game, but, as expected, not quite as good as its Final Fantasy counterpart and not very accessible as a music game alone.
Mario has changed quite a bit since he first arrived in 1981's Donkey Kong. He's still wearing the overalls with yellow buttons and a baseball cap, though. You have to give him points for a consistently functional wardrobe:
A new generation of Mortal Kombat is upon us. Mortal Kombat is arriving this Tuesday, and it's just as violent as you're hoping for, but brings with it bold new mechanics. Those new mechanics are backed by a sizable fighter list which includes eight combatants never before seen in the Mortal Kombat universe.
Mario has done all kinds of interesting things in his career with his friendshellip; heÄ‚Ë€â„Ës played soccer, baseball, hosted parties. But in years past, heÄ‚Ë€â„Ës actually been employed doing a little bit of everythinghellip; except plumbing. So, how about a fun list of jobs you may not have realized (or remembered) he had?
Well, hello there, beautiful. Glad you could join me today. Come sit by me on the bearskin rug. The fireplace is roaring, and smooth jazz is filling the air. Today, I have two controllers, a box of Franzia, and all the time in the world just for you. Yes, you. Don't tell the others.
It's long been rumored that Naughty Dog is working on an Uncharted collection to introduce those who aren't familiar with the games to the franchise before Uncharted 4: A Thief's End comes out, in addition to reminding those who played them why they were so good. Today those rumors are substantiated more than ever before.
[Editor's Note: Official screenshots for Awakening unintentionally released before embargo due to an error with our database system that controls the visibility of game entries and paired screenshots. We are working vigorously with our development team so that this doesn't occur in the future. Regardless, it shouldn't have happened and we should have double-checked. We must apologize to Grinding Gear Games and Path of Exile fans for this leak. ~Ed. Nick Tan]
Splatoon won't have voice chat for online multiplayer, which has undoubtedly upset a number of Nintendo fans hungry for some competitive Wii U fun.
As for why the game won't include this feature, Splatoon director Yusuke Amano explained that he didn't want Nintendo gamers to deal with the negativity that comes with online chat. "This is coming from personal experience," he told Edge (via GameSpot).

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games have announced a new LEGO game that is poised to rival the likes of Skylanders and Disney Infinity.
LEGO Dimensions is a toys-to-life game that features characters from the DC Comics universe, as well as familiar faces from The LEGO Movie, and The Lord of the Rings. The game will feature a "LEGO Gateway," which one would presume features similarly to Activision's portal for Skylanders. The initial release will come as a Starter Pack that includes a LEGO Toy Pad, and Dimensions will be supported in the future with additional content in the form of Expansion Packs.
A new trailer for Conker's Big Reunion has been released. Watch the foul-mouthed squirrel stumble around in Project Spark by checking out the video above.
For those who don't already know, Microsoft has opted to create an episodic adventure series within Project Spark as a way to revisit Rare's platforming rodent. While it's hardly a substitute for a full-fledged game, it's certainly better than nothing at all.
