This War of Mine is a survival game that examines themes of loss and war in a virtual space, but developer 11 bit studios hopes to address those issues in the real world with its latest DLC.
The upcoming remaster of DmC Devil May Cry is rated M for mature just like the original game, but the new version includes a small change in dialogue spotted by Eurogamer.
An early cutscene between Mundus and his demon mistress Lilith details the villain's plans to control society. The following exchange takes place, and the highlighted part is removed in the Definitive Edition.
Mundus: "I will control the world through debt. I have absolute power."
Lilith: "The world is at last your bitch, as am I. Nothing left but to grab it by the hair, bend it over and -"
Mundus: *grunt*
Lilith: "What's the matter? Wait - what's the matter?"
It seems like a curious omission considering the rest of the content in the game, but Ninja Theory Creative Director Tameem Antoniades clarified that the decision has nothing to do with censorship.
Embedded above is a cool tech demo that Epic unveiled last year for Unreal Engine 4 when it was showing off Blueprints, its anyone-can-make-a-game graphic interface for the engine.
But you know what's cooler than watching that demo? Getting to walk around inside that room while those guys are duking it out. Sulon Technologies's Augmented Virtual Reality headset, the Cortex AVR let me do just that.
[Update] Ahead of its release next week, Telltale Games has released a trailer for the second episode of Tales From the Borderlands. Give it a look above for a sneak peak at what's to come.
Do yourself a favor and hit play on the trailer for Thumper above. Make sure you crank up the volume, put on some headphones if you have one handy, and switch on the HD. After it's done and your ears and eyes and brain have melted away, come back here... Or Watch It Again. I don't mind, these words aren't going anywhere.
Quantum Break, the upcoming Xbox One third-person action game from Remedy Entertainment, is apparently not coming out this year after all.
According to a post on Twitter by Dae Jim, the Dutch Community and Social Media Coordinator at Microsoft, the game is "likely delayed" and won't release until sometime in 2016. Seeing as how Remedy is notorious for delaying its games, this doesn't come as all too much of a surprise.
Quantum Break is a narrative-heavy action game from the same development studio that crafted Alan Wake for Xbox 360. For more on this exciting Xbox One exclusive, check out this stunning gameplay demo.
Microsoft has just announced a new Xbox One console bundle, this time featuring everyone's favorite alien-blasting Spartan.
Later this month, you'll be able to pick up a Kinect-less Xbox One that comes with a copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection for the suggested retail price of $349.99. While 343 Industries' sci-fi compilation has been a rough experience for those wishing to play online, the latest patch appears to have mixed many of the issues.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection launched late last year, exclusively for Xbox One. It includes the campaigns and multiplayer maps from each of the numbered entries in the super-popular series first conceived by Bungie back on the original Xbox.
Gearbox Software announced during its panel at PAX East that Tales From the Borderlands - Episode 2: Atlas Mugged will be launching on March 17.
Based on what was gathered from the panel, we know Scooter will be making an appearance in this second episode, and the infamous character Handsome Jack will be playing a significant role this time around as well. Go figure.
Not too long ago it was revealed that Batman: Arkham Knight, the trilogy-capper to Rocksteady's series staring the Caped Crusader, will be rated "M for Mature," a first for the traditionally "T-rated" series.
A game smitten with third-person action and MOBA tactics.
I got several chances to play SMITE, the third-person, action-heavy MOBA from Hi-Rez Studios, or more specifically, its upcoming port on Xbox One, with the limited public Beta beginning on March 11th. It was at Microsoft's indie booth, the ID@Xbox indie showcase, and Nick Tan, Jessica Vazquez, and I scored an appointment to see how the game played on the Xbox One in a nearby PR office behind closed doors.
Penny Arcade Expo East 2015 is in full swing this weekend, bringing with it loads of interesting games, panels, and exciting announcements. GameRevolution is on site in Boston to cover the event, and we've got loads of coverage for you to check out.
It's been one year since Sony revealed Project Morpheus, their VR headset for the PS4, with plans announced earlier this week for release next year. In that year VR has exploded, with a lot of money being funneled into VR research and development all over the place. At GDC this year, I tried five different VR headsets, each with its own proprietary hardware and software solutions for VR problems. Project Morpheus was not available to try without an appointment, but there was a talk about what Sony is doing to win the tech war for consumer VR.
Exactly fourteen years and two days ago, the world met a squirrel - a red one to be precise - and he would become a BFD as Conker's Bad Fur Day hit the shelves for the Nintendo 64. Some players had met Conker before as a friend of Diddy Kong in 1997's Diddy Kong Racing, and he even had his own Game Boy Color adventure in 1999, Conker's Pocket Tales. But when they met him again in 2001's Bad Fur Day, he had turned into a foul-mouthed, greedy, selfish, drunken, horny asshole. And it was awesome.
Monolith Software is without a doubt one of the most talented Japanese development studios right now. Last generation was a rough one for JRPG fans, as the genre has clearly lost its way over the past few years. Fortunately, however, there were still a few gems that graced the console market within the last decade, and
GameRevolution is live at PAX East at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, and so are hundreds of cosplayers walking around uncomfortably. Uncomfortable because they're either freezing from exposed cleavage or wearing so much gear they're sweating like a pig in a blanket... or maybe because creeps are following them around snapping pics all day long. We did some creeping, too, and put together this photo gallery for you of some of the best at the show.
Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, the upcoming expansion for the incredibly popular MMORPG, has finally received a release date. During a panel today at PAX East, Square Enix announced that players will be able to dive into Heavensward on June 23.
Nintendo is often knocked for relying on the same stable of franchises year after year. We've seen far too many games starring its overall-clad plumber or iconic sword-wielding hero of Hyrule, and despite how awesome some of these games may be, the level of over-saturation is starting to get a little ridiculous. Nintendo fans have been asking for a new IP for years now, and now they're finally getting one in the form of a team-based third-person shooter called
Amplitude Studios and Iceberg Interactive have revealed at GDC 2015 details for its newest DLC, Guardians of Auriga, which is scheduled to release on April 16, 2015. This is in addition to the third free content pack, Eye on the Stars, announced earlier which is set to release later in March.
The major inclusion revolves around five Colossus units, each of which based on an element (fire, water, air, earth, and dust) and are essentially one-man wrecking crews. A player can build one of each of these powerful late-game units, though the resources and time required to produce one will likely limit players to creating one and only one colossus. Each Colossus unit requires their own research in science in the technology tree, though it is possible to unlock the Colossus unit for production by completing a separate quest.
Okay so Dragon Quest Heroes is fucking ridiculously good. I don't usually like Warriors (Musou) games, but dayum, son, this game is good. And yes, it's a Musou game. Square Enix likes to call it an "action RPG," which isn't entirely untrue, but its purely a marketing move. They just don't want you to be turned off by the notion of playing more Dynasty Warriors, which don't tend to be reviewed well.
I always love a good rearrangement of my favorite game music. I also love being a pretentious ass, so when the world's most famous symphony orchestra takes on Final Fantasy, the combination can only mean greatness.
