The first Call of Duty was codenamed "Medal of Honor Killer," former Infinity Ward artist Justin Thomas has revealed.

Speaking to MCV, lead designer Zied Rieke discussed the bitter rivalry between Activision and Electronic Arts in the World War II first-person shooter space, saying: It wasnÄ‚ËĂ˘â€šÂ¬Ă˘â€žËt just Medal of Honor we were wary of being similar to, because most of the World War II games at the time followed that formula, like Return to Castle Wolfenstein, which was kind of a super-spy in WWII story.
