The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing has always been an exceedingly interesting game series to me. On the one hand, theyre clearly influenced by the dozens of fantasy hack and slash action RPGs that came before, such as Diablo, Dungeon Siege, Torchlight, etc. But then on the other hand, it draws heavy inspiration from gothic horror themes and characters as well hence the Van Helsing setting.

PCgamer:"The third and final installment in the Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing trilogy is due out later this month. I got a chance to play a preview build of it late last week, and while the world's were lush with an impressive level of detail, the controls and combat didn't behave exactly as expected. Enemy attack animations would cause their hit boxes to move unexpectedly, which made attacking specific enemies nearly impossible. This didn't stop me from having a good time while playing, however, as Van Helsing 3 has some great writing and a unique style that differentiates itself from the standard fantasy setting of most other ARPGs. COG writes - The original Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing surprised many gamers and has become a staple of a lot of ARPG fan's libraries. Neocore took that success and ran with it and are now rounding out the trilogy. We got our hands on a preview build of TIAoVH3 and things are looking really good for the finale.

GH: "Ever since 2013s original Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, Hungarian developer NeocoreGames has stated it plans an entire trilogy for the famous monster hunter. After exactly one year, a sequel was already out. Fast forward to 2015, and here we are, testing a preview build for Van and his ghostly companion Katarinas last exploits. Even though this is the last entry in the series, I cant really say that weve come a long way, simply because it still feels like were playing the original game, only with various enhancements and additions, here and there. Of course, this is only the aforementioned preview build, so the final product might still surprise me."
