It all comes back to the story. This is a story driven game and all its twists and turns keep you playing and wanting to discover more. The superb voice acting and intelligent plot more than makes up for what it lacks in length and challenge. BioShock Infinite is a sure-fire game-of-the-year candidate, and definitely one of the standout single-player games of this generation.

Bioshock Infinite may not be the sort of typical horror that FEARnet discusses, but its certainly worth any discussion that it brings up. Once you peel pack the layers of more overt horror (The Boys of Silencenuff said) it raises a lot of questions that make you feel uncomfortable and frightened overall. While Comstock may be a more extreme representation of xenophobia and racism, this is how people used to thinkand some still do. Now thats scary.

Since the beginning, BioShock creator Ken Levine has stressed that his goal was to make Elizabeth feel like anything but a video game character. And while half of that effort is good writing and voice acting, the other half is good technology: Elizabeth had to look and act real otherwise, the Bioshock Infinite experience would fall apart. And pulling that off, as you might expect, takes a lot of work.
