EGMR: "When I heard about Child of Light, I was very excited. A game that had a similar visual style to Braid with watercolour like graphics and a princess who could fly around with a little ball of light (that is actually a firefly) for a companion. It sounded so charming and whimsical and it looked breathtakingly pretty. And then I got sad. Sad, because I also heard that it used a turn based combat system similar to that of a JRPG. Fire, brimstone and apocalypse. Thats what happens when you cannot do one thing; they make a game about a flying princess that you cannot play. Sigh."

Japanese Wii U owners can download the game free until June 30.
The launch of DS Virtual Console titles expands the service from its already available SNES, NES and GBA range.
There's currently no word on when DS games will roll out on the European Virtual Console, but it wouldn't be a surprise to hear more about upcoming DS games at some point over E3.
