5 Weird Character Based Kart Racing Games for Android and 1 Edutainment on Wheels Game

Carl Williams writes, "Ever since Nintendo released Super Mario Kart on the Super Nintendo, oh so many years ago, companies have tried to copy that specific formula for success with varying results. Sega is one such company that has tried to take their existing stable of characters and create kart racing games with them as the stars (Sonic R on Saturn and more recently two of the games on this list). Even Sony got in on the action with Crash Team Racing on the original Playstation, even the WWE has a kart racing game out (on Playstation 2). This is one of those genres that is pretty much dominated by one or two companies (Nintendo usually doesnt have all that much to worry about). We feel that the key to success in this genre is the characters, hence this list."

| Should Call of Duty Games Focus More On Historical War Events?
Added: 31.08.2015 14:17 | 42 views | 0 comments
Kelly from GamersFTW says:
Call of Duty: Black Ops III is due out in just over a couple of months time and when I heard of its release back in April of this year, I did a little groan.
Dont get me wrong, the game itself looks fantastic visually and I am sure fans of the series will no doubt find the new game exhilarating. But isnt it about time Call of Duty developers focused on bringing back the good ol First Person Shooter days of the likes of Call of Duty 1-3, World at War and Black Ops which were based on true historical events of past wartime?

| Atari 2600 Q*Bert Improved to be More like Arcade Version
Added: 31.08.2015 11:18 | 8 views | 0 comments
Carl Williams writes, "The Atari 2600 sure did try to be the arcade in your home, and for a while it was. The problem is, as time went on things improved in the arcade such as the hardware and challenge provided to the gamer. Gamers wanted more challenge, more colors, more sounds and the poor Atari 2600 just couldnt keep up, as evidenced by many of the later arcade ports (go ahead, just pick one and see). One such title that was quite a bit of trouble to get on the Atari 2600 was Q*Bert, the Atari 2600 just didnt have the graphical capability to do diagonal, isometric, style graphics quite right- it still doesnt. This hack is not improving the graphics all that much, instead it focuses on other parts of the game."

Treyarch always goes all out with its Call of Duty games- Infinity Ward may have birthed the modern Call of Duty game, but it has been Treyarch since then, with their Black Ops game, who have kept interest in the franchise alive, by always pushing against the boundaries of what can be expected from a Call of Duty game.
