| COD: Advanced Warfare pre-orders are 50% behind Ghosts, says analyst

Could the most promising Call of Duty in years prove to be the worst selling?.
We don't usually carry analyst comment on these pages, for much the same reason that my educated guesses about global CO2 emissions rarely make the national news, but I thought this might interest you: according to Cowen and Company analyst Doug Cruetz (via VentureBeat), Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare pre-orders are tracking 50% behind those of Call of Duty: Ghosts at a comparable time in its production and release cycle, and a whopping 80% behind pre-orders for 2012's Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

| How EA avoided being voted Worst Company in America three years running
Added: 30.09.2014 11:47 | 18 views | 0 comments
Former executives and EA staffers on learning from the backlash.
Electronic Arts's PR team had a rough-and-tumble start to 2014, in large part due to upset about Battlefield 4's technical problems. But the corporation has been spared, at least, the distinction of becoming the first organisation ever to win Consumerist.com's influential Worst Company in America poll for three years running. Channelling anger over in-game micro-transactions, EA beat out the Bank of America in 2012 to claim the trophy; it repeated the trick the following year with an even larger share of the vote, allegedly thanks to a string of lacklustre sequels, poor post-launch support and overpricing.

| The Grand Journey

Journey was an ostensibly a petite game released by the acclaimed studio ThatGameCompany nearly two years ago. And yet, it has remained with many people as one of the most unique and distinguished games of the modern era. A game in which players oftentimes pick up the controller and, three hours later, are awed reflecting back at what they had just experienced. In fact, Journey was just that: an experience. Many might still classify Journey as a game, and, though it still is at its core, it transcends that classification, primarily evident from the manner in which its story comes across to the player.
