Alien: Isolation, the PC Advantage

Added: 12.10.2014 5:12 | 5 views | 0 comments

Tin Salamunic: AMD has recently joined forces with Creative Assembly to bring PC gamers the definitive Alien: Isolation experience. The PC version offers native support for AMD Eyefinity, 4K Ultra HD, AMD Crossfire and a plethora of DirectX 11 effects specifically fine-tuned for the Graphics Core Next architecture in AMDs new GPUs and processors. What does this mean for the game? Better textures, higher framerate, better lighting, enhanced shadows, better anti-aliasing...the list goes on. I recently reviewed Alien: Isolation on the Playstation 4, and while my score was a high 9/10, the consoles technical shortcomings hurt the overall playthrough on more than a few occasions.

Added: 11.10.2014 21:12 | 14 views | 0 comments

Road to VR Alien: Isolation is Creative Assemblys stab at moving a beloved movie franchise into a compelling interactive experience. Early word on the title was that, unlike the execrable Aliens: Colonial Marines before it, Isolation was something special. Whats more, at GDC earlier this year, Oculus proudly showed the triple-A title in a VR enabled version that terrified all who played it. Alien: Isolation was the virtual reality hit of the show and with good reason.

Review: Alien Isolation - Connected Digital World

Connected Digital World writes: Whilst the Alien franchise might have been recently tarnished by the latest videogames efforts, that hasnt put Creative Assembly off in attempting to create a truly terrifying Xenomorphic experience. And whereas the past slew of games in the franchise have been more akin to traditional shooters, Alien Isolation makes you feel like what you actually are, a feebly fragile, tasty human.

Alien Isolation Review - Mouse n Joypad

Tickles writes - "Visually Creative Assembly have done what many of us though was impossible. They have fulfilled their boasts of staying true to the source material and Sevastopol Station looks and feels exactly like the far future as we envisaged almost forty years ago. Even the way lights activate is brilliantly executed. Everything is delightfully retro, theres no Bluetooth, no touchscreen and no convenient PDAs. You will gain access to a Hacking Tool which is used on certain doors, when activated you have to complete a short mini-game, this sounds like it might be tiresome after a while but there are a few different mini-games and when you are activating it time doesnt stop."

Alien: Isolation (2014) Review | FilmGamesEtc

Added: 11.10.2014 8:12 | 2 views | 0 comments

The once mysterious Xenomorph which first appeared in Ridley Scotts 1979 classic Alien has been on more consoles and appeared in more game genres than there have been movies about it. Yet despite the surprising occurrence with which the Alien universe has been tapped into in the video game medium there has been little to celebrate in the Xenomorphs translation from film to game. With Alien: Isolation the team behind The Creative Assembly chose to focus on the movie that first evoked fear of the Xenomorph. With an almost slavish dedication the developers at CA have essentially recreated the world of Alien as originally envisioned by Ridley Scott and H.R Giger.
