Dragon Ball Xenoverse Japan's Top Game; PS3 Ver. Outsells PS4

Added: 12.02.2015 9:00 | 19 views | 0 comments

If you take my Xenoverse prediction and swap the two systems, I would have been... kind of close? I thought Far Cry 4's PS4 version outselling its PS3 version handily was a sign of changing times, but I suppose not. Here's how Japanese game sales turned out for the week of Feb. 2 - 8. 1. (PS3) Dragon Ball Xenoverse - 44,221
2. (PS4) Dragon Ball Xenoverse - 34,690
3. (3DS) Youkai Watch 2: Shinuchi - 24,068
4. (3DS) Lost Heroes 2 - 20,691
5. (3DS) Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire - 12,234
6. (PS4) Far Cry 4 - 9,790
7. (3DS) Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate - 9,715
8. (PSV) PhotoKano Kiss - 9,512
9. (3DS) Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker - 9,240
10. (3DS) Super Smash Bros. for 3DS - 8,950
11. (PS3) Far Cry 4 - 8,513
12. (PS3) Tales of Zestiria - 8,225
13. (PS3) Dark Souls II Scholar of the First Sin - 7,770
14. (WIU) Kirby and the Rainbow Curse - 7,004
15. (WIU) Super Smash Bros. for Wii U - 5,683
16. (WIU) Mario Kart 8 - 4,799
17. (3DS) Youkai Watch 2 - 4,777
18. (3DS) Animal Crossing: New Leaf - 4,678
19. (PSV) Persona 4 Golden (Budget re-release version) - 3,574
20. (3DS) Kenka Bancho 6 - 2,896 Far Cry 4's PS4 version might have sold more this week, but by all reports, its first shipment moved like 93% off the shelves, so it was bloody hard to find. Low supply be damned, it's been a hot game. But even the market presence of new and attractive DBZ and Far Cry 4 only provided the tiniest of boosts to PS4.

Shantae And The Pirates Curse review two-dimensional art | Metro

Metro: 2D art specialists WayForward release what might be the best-looking game so far on the 3DS, and a loving homage to 16-bit gaming. Thanks to indie developers pixel art animation is still almost as prevalent today as it ever was. But there were some dark days a decade or so ago, before the advent of digital downloads, where the only outlet for non-polygon based graphics was on portable consoles. At that time WayForward was one of the few developers keeping the art alive, and their Shantae games have always been a love letter to the golden age of 2D platformers this new game more so than ever.

The 10 Most Obscure Kirby Games

Daniel Kurland, GIZORAMA - "Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is just around the corner, and with the release of what looks to be one of the best Kirby titles in a long time, it seems appropriate to take a look at some of the more unusual Kirby titles. We all remember the Kirbys Dream Land trilogy, Kirby Super Star, and the Nintendo 64s Crystal Shards, but you might be surprised at some of the gaming adventures that the pink puffball has gotten himself into. Its worth noting that the bulk of these titles are available on various Virtual Console platforms, if you find yourself so inclined to check them out."
