Diehard GameFAN: Time and Eternity Hands-On Preview

Added: 04.06.2013 14:18 | 7 views | 0 comments

DHGF: times when I was a kid. Honestly, Time and Eternity is crazy awesome so far, I will be shocked if its not at least a nominee for some award come the end of the year, and its definitely in my top five games of the year. Of course, Im only a sixth into the game, so things may change, but right now (God knows that has happened before), its hard not to gush over this game in every way. The visuals are gorgeous, the voice acting and music are top notch, the story is whimsical and a huge change from the usual mopey anti-hero saves all of creation that we find in a lot of JRPGs. Combat is extremely unique and a lot of fun, and I love the customization tree for both girls. This is definitely a game that is going to be a time sink for me. I cant wait to see what else Time and Eternity has in store for me.

Feature: Halo: Spartan Assault Hands-On - New Halo, Old Tricks?

Added: 04.06.2013 14:00 | 5 views | 0 comments

Spartan Assault is 343's next instalment in the Halo series, but its influences are surprisingly old.

They call, you go. Because people love Halo.

The question is, however, whether they'll love this one.

Full-fat, first-person, four-player split-screen Halo this isn't. Instead, it's a Windows 8 platform-only deal – a title that can be played across your PC, tablet and phone – which has got its roots in old-school, top-down shooters like Smash TV, Total Carnage, and crusty old Robotron 2084.

Not that Spartan Assault is going to look anything like those games – 343 is promising that this will resemble Halo in every way bar the viewpoint. Massive vistas,...

VideoGamer: "There has been a lot of buzz about The Last of Us multiplayer. From grand statements that it will 'change gaming forever' to more than a fair bit of intrigue from the wider community, Naughty Dog has deliberately remained quiet on what it had planned. Thankfully, the time has now arrived for the developer to lift the lid.

Lincoln and Pittsburg are just two (hopefully) short portions of what, according to Naughty Dogs track record, looks like a long, fulfilling game. Naturally, the demo didnt reveal everything the final game would have so thats still plenty to watch out for on your long trek across the US.

Hands-on: The Elder Scrolls Online | Rock, Paper, Shotgun

Added: 30.05.2013 19:17 | 13 views | 0 comments

Rock, Paper, Shotgun: "The Elder Scrolls Online is in the unusual (and perhaps unenviable) position of having to appeal to two kinds of player fans of the Elder Scrolls series and fans of the MMO. It would be silly to argue against the suspicion that, at a certain point, these two groups must overlap. Its that sweet spot of the Venn diagram that Zenimax is pitching to with its foray into the lots-of-people-fighting-at-once genre. It has already been pointed out that TESO looks to be leaning towards the tried and tested techniques of the MMO, rather than forging a distinct multiplayer world from Elder Scroll conventions, a la the broken yet personable Mortal Online. Having recently had a brief wander in Tamriel, it does seem to us that, as a game, it is certainly more World of Warcraft than Skyrim. Even if it does pay tribute to its forebears in terms of lore and world-building."
