Ken McKown writes: It is sad to see the Year of Luigi come to a close, but what better way to end it than with a callback to one of the great Nintendo franchises we havent seen in years. Dr. Luigi finally gives Marios green-inspired brother a chance to do some pill-popping of his own, in this pseudo sequel to Dr. Mario Online Rx.

Dr. Luigi Review: Thats some expensive medicine | GamerTell

From the review, "As with any trip to the doctor, theres good news and bad news. The good news is, Dr. Luigi successfully preserves and expands on the legacy of the Dr. Mario series. Its fun to play, quite addictive, and, most importantly, gives us a reason to turn on our Wii Us again. The only problem is, these doctors fees are going to hit you hard. Dr. Luigi offers an interesting take on a classic puzzler, and the new modes and online multiplayer are appreciated, but the premiums are a bit high for what players are getting."

Opinion: Good riddance, Luigi! Five reasons why 2014 will be The Year of Vita If you've visited the World Wide Web over the last 12 months, you'll have seen The Year of Luigi promotion Nintendo embarrassingly tried to force upon the world. It's safe to say that Nintendo didn't exactly 'execute' The Year of Luigi concept with aplomb. But there's no denying that The Big N delivered big time when it came to the 3DS in 2013. However, if 2014 is looking like it'll belong t...

"Despite the unnecessarily large bit of Luigi paint slapped on, the Dr. Mario series has made the transition to Wii U fairly well. Plus, new features retain the ability to keep the series exciting and fresh." - Nintendo Feed

Do your best flutter jump at the news that Yoshi's New Island is heading to 3DS on March 14th

Do your best flutter jump at the news that Yoshi's New Island is heading to 3DS on March 14th It's time for Nintendo's green dinosaur to shine now that The Year of Luigi is officially behind us. With that very much in mind, then, get ready for Yoshi's New Island for 3DS on March 14th. Yoshi is one of the stranger Nintendo creations. I mean, what other character do you know ground pounds, flutter jumps, devours enemies, and turns said foes into eggs? We don't really get to know ...

How Nintendo Can Save Itself With Mobile Platforms

Hardcore Gamer: Nintendo is in trouble. Doom and gloom has been forecast for the company since the Wii Us soft launch, and this past week saw the company report that the Wii Us sales are dramatically lower than expected. Despite the introduction of a Mario/Luigi bundle, the recent release of Super Mario 3D World, and older highly-revered games like LEGO City Undercover and The Wonderful 101, the system didnt catch on for holiday sales and is expected to sell 2.8 million for the fiscal year. Worse, 3DS sales arent going to be as high as expected either and portable gaming is the one area Nintendo can always hang its hat on with investors and point to as a success. After many years of its outdated practices, from using relatively ancient hardware for the Wii U to an antiquated online setup, Iwata stated that he was willing to look into new ways for the company to make money.

Dr. Luigi - GR Review

Added: 21.01.2014 18:25 | 12 views | 0 comments

I have a fever, and the only cure is more Luigi.

The original Dr. Mario released in 1990 and the strategic puzzler that combined elements of Tetris with match-4 was an instant hit. I was completely obsessed with it back in the day, playing for hours until I could finally beat level 20 on Hard and see the last surprise cut-scene. Now that 2013 was the Year of Luigi, the younger brother has completed his med-school education at the same fast track university Mario attended nearly 25 years ago (holy crap, am I really that old??), and he's ready to take on these viruses himself with his own patent-pending brand of medicine. Dr. Luigi offers a new school twist on the old school Dr. Mario game, but it relies on more nostalgia than anything else. Fans of the original Dr. Mario may be intrigued by Luigi's germ fighting, but it's hard to see anything about this that will be attractive to new, younger fans.
