News: Wii U console sales up 169% in Japan following Pikmin 3 launch

Added: 17.07.2013 16:42 | 8 views | 0 comments

Pikmin 3 sold 92,720 copies.

In the week which finally saw Pikmin 3 arrive in stores, Wii U hardware sales rose 169 per cent from 8,251 units to 22,199 units. The 3DS continues to rule the hardware roost, selling 43,435 units.

Pikmin 3 itself, which launched July 13, shifted 92,720 copies.

Also new this week was New Super Luigi U, which moved 24,881 copies.

VideoGamer.com Analysis

Whilst the Wii U sales increase is very much needed, Pikmin 3's launch week sales of under 100k doesn't bode well for its longevity.

CSM - New Super Luigi U Review

Added: 14.07.2013 0:16 | 9 views | 0 comments

CSM - New Super Luigi U basically serves as a challenge mode for veterans of the original game looking for something that will really put their running and jumping skills to the test. Talented players should get a real kick out of it. Less skilled players can have fun, too, so long as they use the boost mode carried over from the main game, which allows a second player to use the GamePad to create platforms in the sky, making some of the more frustrating levels a lot easier.
