What Gamers Want for the Week of 9-7-15: New Video Game Releases

Added: 07.09.2015 0:18 | 22 views | 0 comments

EB: Consider this week a slight break in the fall AAA video game release rush for 2015, but dont write it off as a bad week of releases altogether, because there are still a few worth looking into. The most notable new video game release is definitely Super Mario Maker for the Wii U, which ships on the 11th. Although, both Tearaway Unfolded and Lovers in a Dangerous Space Time are two titles to consider as well, not to mention Dropsy may be worth experiencing too. You can also try a few titles on new platforms, or even a remaster of Castle Crashers for the Xbox One.

We take questions from listeners and readers like you from time to time on Nintendo Week, our Nintendo-themed podcast here at Gamnesia, and this week one of the questions asked us whether we think Waluigi ever has a chance at starring in a game that isn't just a Mario spinoff. While Waluigi's sure to show up in Smash Bros. one of these days, I had my own proposal for a better use of the character: give Wario and Waluigi starring roles as a slapstick duo in animated short films.

NL: If you'd have said that one day it would be possible to play Super Mario 64 on a handheld console back in 1996, you'd likely have been laughed out of the room. But in 2004 that dream was made a reality in the shape of Super Mario 64 DS which was a launch title for the original phat Nintendo DS.

GT: If you were to ask Nintendo fans what each of Super Marios classic 2D adventures mean to them, chances are youd get a wide range of responses. Some people might reply that they love the simplified and not-yet-refined platforming of the original Super Mario Bros. Others may find the more realized gameplay and impeccable level design of Super Mario World to be their favorite. Younger gamers might even be clined to proclaim that the modernization of the New Super Mario Bros. series defined their gaming childhood. While the impact of particular Mario games on a person may depend on their age group and history with the series, each of Marios games has always offered something slightly different to everyone.
