Microsoft's 'Halo Wars 2' Should Redeem A Failed (But Good) Idea

Added: 06.08.2015 9:18 | 16 views | 0 comments

Forbes: There were few surprises in Microsofts Gamescom conference this morning, mostly an extrapolation of currently announced games, showing more footage from titles like Crackdown, Quantum Break and Scalebound. But there was one moment that was certainly a surprise, near the very end when Microsoft announced that Halo Wars 2 was being developed for Xbox One and PC. The details are scarce, but from what was shared so far, at least the idea is promising. The cinematic trailer showed a new side of the galactic Halo war, though no gameplay, but Microsoft relayed that its Total War developer Creative Assembly taking a crack at the strategy game in concert with 343, which now rules the Halo franchise in the wake of Bungies departure. Given that Total War is one of the few remaining quality games in the Real-Time Strategy genre, thats very good news indeed.

GameRevolution: "This week Microsoft revealed new details for Crackdown 3 after more than a year of silence. The big story is its multiplayer where virtually every structure in the game world can be dismantled thanks to a meticulously designed physics engine. These destructible environments are such a large highlight of the game that Crackdown 3's entire presentation at Gamescom was focused on it. What you might not know is that Crackdown 3 utilizes the cloud computing that Microsoft has spent so much time hyping over the years. This is the same cloud computing that was a major component of its original Xbox One reveal, and has since become a bit of a laughing stock among gamers as it hasn't materialized into anything of great substance."

Did Sony Make A Mistake Skipping Gamescom 2015?

Added: 05.08.2015 21:18 | 7 views | 0 comments

Gamescom 2015 was a breeze for Microsoft, not only because of the wide variety of games and upcoming content it had, but also because its only competition decided to skip Gamescom all together! Microsoft definitely seized the opportunity to get ahead of Sony, not only for Fall 2015 but early 2016 as well. For Microsoft, Gamescom was essentially a second E3, as both new content was shown off as well as more gameplay of content we saw revealed at E3 or at an earlier time

Microsoft just made a bunch of announcements The annual Gamescom 2015 conference in Cologne feels like the other shoe dropping after the barrage of E3 revelations in June. Microsoft led off Europes five-day video gaming trade fair (the show officially launches Wednesday and runs through Sunday) with a 90-minute Xbox-centric presser that included world premiere first looks at Quantum Break, Crackdown 3 and Scalebound, three keystone Xbox One exclusives due next year.
