ZTGD | Fantasia: Music Evolved (XB1) Review

Added: 05.11.2014 14:11 | 10 views | 0 comments

Justin Testa writes: Growing up, I absolutely adored Disneys Fantasia. Of course, I had no idea why as I was only a little kid but I sure did love all the Disney characters. Years later, when I was a teenager, Fantasia 2000 came out so, of course, I went to see it. I adored that was well. This time, I had a better understanding as to why I loved these movies so much: the music. I was (and still am) a classical music kind of guy. Fast forward to the present; when I found out that there was going to be a game based on Fantasia, I was absolutely thrilled that I would get to re-live these two fantastic movies once again but, instead of watching them, I get to conduct them.

Set for release on Steam for PC in early 2015, Please Knock on My Door uses gameplay to show how isolating it can be to live with depression in a lonely environment, thus helping players understand how to comfort friends and loved ones who experience depression in their own lives. The player will follow and control a person suffering from depression, experiencing the struggles of getting through everyday actions such as sleeping, working and eating. Depending on the mood of the main character, different events will occur including self-destructive actions and the main character's struggle with arachnophobia. Which events take place will also be decided by the player's actions in dream sequences, which aim to show the main character's deepest wants and fears. Music is being created by the talented musician Ola Bäckström (https://soundcloud.com/olabero) who most recently created the music and sound effects for futuristic ball-sport game Epigenesis.
