Review: Neverwinter An MMORPG of a Different Sort | Gameranx

Added: 05.07.2013 19:16 | 13 views | 0 comments

Gameranx: "Cryptic Studios and Perfect World are two companies not unfamiliar with developing massively multiplayer online role-playing games. Between the two of them, they've made more than a dozen different titles ranging from martial arts adventures to piloting a starship. Their latest creation is Neverwinter, a free-to-play MMO set in the Dungeons Dragons universe. It doesn't quite live up to its namesake, but its mechanics elevate it to what would otherwise be a blip on the radar."

Neverwinter Review (Strategy Informer)

Added: 01.07.2013 13:16 | 12 views | 0 comments

From Strategyinformer.com: "It takes a while to get into most MMOs - not many have quite grasped how to immediately engage the player while also patiently teaching them the nuances of their many systems - and Neverwinter is no exception. The first few hours are tedious, mashing together what feels like the worst aspects of both MMORPGs and ARPGs, giving you repetitive fetch and kill quests that you complete by using click-mashy combat. It's not a great first impression, but as you unlock more abilities and discover more about Neverwinter's world, it grows into something more accomplished".

Neverwinter Review [Capsule Computers]

Added: 30.06.2013 12:16 | 11 views | 0 comments

Author Joshua Moris of Capsule Computers writes: "Any good MMO needs to have an appealing draw towards character creation. Neverwinter is successful in this aspect because it offers customization to further individualize a character. Most important is that the creator is able to actively view and update changes throughout the process. Not happy with making the characters race an elf? Start over by creating a dwarf (the best race of all). Combine race with facial identifiers like tattoos and scars, and you have quite the custom package to choose from."

Project Spark Sparks the Xbox One's Imagination | The Escapist

Added: 25.06.2013 4:17 | 11 views | 0 comments

The Escapist: "It's rare when a game developer opens up its toolbox so early in a console generation. Microsoft Studios made a lot promises during its press conference that were forgotten in the hullaballoo of Sony's dressing down, but the one that stayed true was Project Spark's pure blissful creation. With the tools provided on the disc, you can create almost anything - within minutes, a beautiful 3D game world can emerge. Sure, Project Spark isn't technically a 'game' but if previous open platforms like Minecraft or the Neverwinter Nights Aurora toolset are any indication, you will have access to thousands of experiences created with it."
