How a haircut changed the path of DmC: Devil May Cry

Added: 18.08.2015 12:18 | 63 views | 0 comments

GR: "Rarely can there ever have been such a great fuss over a hairdo. It all began in late 2010 at the Tokyo Game Show, where Capcom unveiled DmC: Devil May Cry with a short trailer showing off the new-look Dante. Younger, grumpier and a good deal darker on top, this angsty smoker was nothing like the cocksure, silver-bobbed protagonist fans knew. The reaction was far from pleasant. Ninja Theory creative chief Tameem Antoniades puts it bluntly: The vitriol was immediate, aggressive and relentless for the next two years. Without a second of gameplay being shown, it had been written off as a disaster in the making. Looking back at forum threads from the time, you can see his point. Kill it with fire. Is Dante emo and gay now? Ninja Theory is on crack."

BAMF BABES #13: Nariko [Heavenly Sword]

Added: 15.08.2015 3:00 | 11 views | 0 comments

What do you get when you combine the acting style of Andy Serkis and the flawless voice of Anna Torv? You get a damn fine video game. Heavenly Sword is a great standalone PlayStation exclusive that features a female character who fights to defend her people, despite the fact that they believe she is a walking bad luck charm. Ninja Theory did a great job with the story and turned Nariko into a classic hero by transforming a common story theme into an incredible video game experience.

Yasai Ninja (PS4) Review - Push Square

Added: 14.08.2015 16:18 | 8 views | 0 comments

Push Square: "Think of the most frustrating gaming moments you had as a child. Add them all together, and you still probably can't even come close to Yasai Ninja. This is a game to be avoided at all costs. With no redeeming factors, and a whole catalogue of problems, Yasai Ninja is more painful to play than forcing down sprouts at Christmas, with about as much reward. A good ninja shouldn't be seen or heard, and the same can be said about this game."

Crying Wolfshene: On Hellblades Progress

Added: 14.08.2015 3:18 | 25 views | 0 comments

Ninja Theory has pitched Hellblade as independent AAA, and by doing have wedged themselves into an unnecessarily tough, possibly inflexible, position. Whether long-winded introductions are saved with this distillation, it nevertheless invites a much greater level of scrutiny and pressure, the latter of a variety the developer may have been kinder to itself to keep internal. With Heavenly Sword and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, Ninja Theory established a commitment to character action games with sophisticated facial capture and exuberant cutscene work generally: if the companys creative foundations stabilize on a reliable bedrock, its because they are consistently iterative on these areas. The frustration in being a fan of the studios work is in having to endure a few equally consistent weaknesses whose improvement is mostly static.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Preview A Storm of Shuriken | The Koalition

Added: 13.08.2015 19:18 | 34 views | 0 comments

Tony Polanco from The Koalition writes: "I had a chance to check out the previous installment of the Naruto video game series at last years Bandai Namco NYC event. I had no idea what I was doing. If a fighting game doesnt play like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, I tend to get lost and this was no exception. I had to make my preview a hands off one since I let a more competent friend show me the ins and outs of the game. This year however, things were different. While at the latest Bandai Namco event, I threw my built-in notions of what a fighting game is supposed to be and finally understood how to play a Naruto game. If youre a fan of the franchise or just like over the top fighting games, then Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is definitely something youll enjoy."

Ninja Usagimaru - The Gem of Blessings Review | Nintendo Life

Added: 13.08.2015 8:18 | 9 views | 0 comments

NL: If there's anything that movies, television and games have taught us, it's that ninja are deadly. Give them knives, blow darts, ninja stars and swords and they're virtually unstoppable. Ninja Usagimaru - The Gem of Blessings proves that they don't need any of those things to be vicious. Give a ninja a simple addition of a block to their arsenal, and it's just one more way to make an already deadly ninja, deadlier.

Splatoon is under £20 already

Added: 11.08.2015 4:18 | 9 views | 0 comments

DS: Splatoon is a must-buy title for any Wii U owner, and unlike most first-party Ninty titles, there are some super cheap deals floating around since release. Like this one at just £19.99. Only Nintendo could turn third-person shooter deathmatches in family-friendly fun. This shooter sees you aiming to paint more territory than the rival team with a variety of weapons. In a neat twist, you can also sneakily swim through any surface painted in your colour. New maps and weapons are appearing all the time in Splatoon, retro Nintendo fans really need to take a look at this to roll back the clock too.

Ninja Theory: Weve Been Lucky That Weve Been Able to Survive

Added: 10.08.2015 9:20 | 63 views | 0 comments

UK-based independent video game developer, Ninja Theory, considers itself lucky enough to have survived in the industry following some commercial failures. Despite a decent reception, neither Heavenly Sword nor Enslaved: Odyssey to the West sold as well as the developer would have liked. Despite this, it secured a deal to develop DmC: Devil May Cry for Capcom, which may just have come at the right time for the studio
