What do you get when you combine the acting style of Andy Serkis and the flawless voice of Anna Torv? You get a damn fine video game. Heavenly Sword is a great standalone PlayStation exclusive that features a female character who fights to defend her people, despite the fact that they believe she is a walking bad luck charm. Ninja Theory did a great job with the story and turned Nariko into a classic hero by transforming a common story theme into an incredible video game experience.

Push Square: "Think of the most frustrating gaming moments you had as a child. Add them all together, and you still probably can't even come close to Yasai Ninja. This is a game to be avoided at all costs. With no redeeming factors, and a whole catalogue of problems, Yasai Ninja is more painful to play than forcing down sprouts at Christmas, with about as much reward. Ninja Usagimaru - The Gem of Blessings proves that they don't need any of those things to be vicious. Only Nintendo could turn third-person shooter deathmatches in family-friendly fun. This shooter sees you aiming to paint more territory than the rival team with a variety of weapons. In a neat twist, you can also sneakily swim through any surface painted in your colour. New maps and weapons are appearing all the time in Splatoon, retro Nintendo fans really need to take a look at this to roll back the clock too.
