Tatsumi Kimishima Is A Safe Pair Of Hands In Changing Times

Added: 21.09.2015 9:17 | 88 views | 0 comments

NL: Despite Kimishima's suitability for the role, it's hard to shake the impression that this is very much a stop-gap appointment. At 65 he's no spring chicken, and it may be that Nintendo is looking to inject some stability into the company during turbulent times before locating a younger, more dynamic successor. Still, it's unfair to see Kimishima as little more than a band-aid - in the next 12 months the company will need his experience and wisdom as it seeks to launch a new home console which - if rumours are to be believed - will unify its domestic and portable interests. Add to this the evolution of its smartphone game business - a business which could very well result in never-before-seen profits for the firm - and Kimishima's appointment makes even more sense. These are exciting times for Nintendo and it now has a sensible and experienced veteran at the helm - and one who may well have the interests of western players at heart.

"Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain represents an evolution for the series. What Does TGS 2015 Tell Us About PS4 in Japan?

Added: 21.09.2015 3:17 | 146 views | 0 comments

Push Square: "The PlayStation 4's been far from a flop in Japan since its launch last year, but it's failed to kick on in quite the way that we expected it to. The console's sold in fits and starts, with big releases like Dragon Quest Heroes and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain prompting numbers to increase only for them to shrink straight back down to the sorry status quo again. But platform holder Sony will be feeling confident this week, as all of the major Japanese publishers rally behind its box in an attempt to prolong the relevance of traditional gaming systems in the East."

Review: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - Connected Digital World

Added: 21.09.2015 3:17 | 109 views | 0 comments

Connected Digital World writes: One of my fondest memories of video games was during Metal Gear Solid 4. Me and a friend sat back as I guided Snake through his journey and we enjoyed the narrative unfold before us. We became so engrossed that we finished the entire thing in one sitting. Admittedly the birds were singing and the next day wasnt exactly high energy but we didnt care at all. Its one of those amazing moments of gaming that Ill never forget. So on top of the impossibly high expectations we all have for MGS I have deep personal expectations too. A tough act to follow indeed.
