CDW:There are only two games on the PS3 that I have ever turned on for the first time and finished without ever turning them off. The first was Metal Gear Solid 4. The other is Beyond: Two Souls. Its very difficult to be unbiased and completely indifferent when it comes to a Quantic Dream game. I was also a fan of Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in the USA) and Heavy Rain so my enjoyment of Beyond came as no surprise.

'Beyond: Two Souls' Review - The Daily Beast

The Daily Beast: Beyond: Two Souls took me about ten hours to complete, and I went through the whole thing in three sittings. Its an inconsistent ride to be sure, but taken as a whole it is undeniably unique. Quantic Dream, love them or hate them, make games like nobody else. I dont know that the game will have any lasting impact on the game industry, but I expect that more than a few interesting conversations will come out of David Cages latest creation.

Beyond: Two Souls Playstation 3 Review - All Age Gaming

Tyler from AAG writes: "David Cages follow-up to the commercially successful Heavy Rain has a lot going for it in terms of raw production. Quantic Dreams figurehead has had access to a full motion capture studio, billions of dollars of assets, a robust development cycle, and the talents of Hollywood actors Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe all for the express purpose of his latest opus. What is sad is that in spite of all of this talent and raw technological power at Mr. Cages hands, Beyond: Two Souls attempts at emotional engagement are ultimately crippled by some glaring fundamental flaws."

Beyond: Two Souls Review - GRYOnline

Beyond: Two Souls is a difficult game to grade - you have to answer a question: do you mind having the gameplay play a supporting role? Because an interesting story, great characters and some really exciting moments are most important here. Beyond is a typical Quantic Dream game and it additionally simplifies many aspects. GRYOnline had fun experiencing this story, but Heavy Rain is a better and teresting game.

Technologically a step forward, but gameplay-wise it is a regression. Bag of Games writes that Quantic Dream's latest game aims to further merge the gap between video games and film.
