Metal Arcade: Jason Bakker writes: As a TMNT fan since childhood, I was in the minority of those who enjoyed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows when it released last August for PC and Xbox 360. PS3 players have been waiting an extremely long time for the PSN version to release with no real updates so long, in fact, that many believed the game was cancelled. Booting up my PlayStation 3 review copy after all this time felt a bit surreal, but when the awesome menu screen popped up, with the Turtles in their iconic poses from the first issue of the comic book, I was amped up to play through it again. There are definitely some problems here including a practically unplayable online mode but overall the game nails the TMNT vibe and backs it up with fun combat.

Push Square: "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows falls frustratingly short of its full potential. As a consequence, this is a completely mediocre brawler, which fails to do anything especially interesting with its parent property. This PS3 port may be more stable than its counterparts, but that doesnt redeem its archaic gameplay and bland visuals."

News has recently been broken about Sony registering 2 new IPs under Entwined and Kill Strain both being trademarked as gaming software, and it makes us think what they could be. Entwined could be a new open world RPG or MMO from no confirmation on that just yet. I want to focus on the Kill Strain IP. If you recall Syphon Filter: Omega Strain was released on the PS2 in May, 2004 being followed by Dark Mirror and Logans Shadows before the series came to a close in 2007. It could be a real possibility that Sony is planing to resurrect or reboot the series since new technology has been made available since the PS2.

Keeping in line with handheld to console conversions this adds in new maps, enemy encounters, HD coat of paint and Batsuits. The HD coat of paint does make character models and cut scenes come close to that of the three main games although you can still tell what platforms it was originally on. These handheld companion games seem to be becoming the new fad with the previous Castlevania: Lords of Shadows Mirror of Fate and the Assassins Creed Liberration HD and others taking the jump from handheld to console.
