Overall we enjoyed Sniper Elite 3 and will give it a thumbs up however the game can be intimidating for the casual gamer and requires a high stealth skill level in order to finish chapters without too much frustration setting in.

Pure snipinghellip;for better or worse.

The first time I watched a bullet from my sniper rifle burrow its way into an enemy soldier’s skull, fracturing the bone and sending innards flying, it was a visual novelty. The effect loses its luster after a few times, but the satisfying sniping and stealth gameplay still kept me hooked. But after a while, Sniper Elite III, lacking an interesting or commanding narrative to guide Karl Fairburne’s actions, devolves into just a series of missions and objectives. What results is a restrained experience incapable of reaching the mantle of greatness or memorability.

We scope in on Rebellion's follow-up to 2012's underrated Sniper Elite V2, but due to the fact that the multiplayer has been largely unplayable up to this point on the PlayStation 4 version, we feel that a review-in-progress is the best approach. AusGamers has reviewed Sniper Elite 3 and writes: If it wasn't for that one brilliant thing it does -- Slow-Mo X-Ray Bullet-Cam -- it'd be the sort of game only your dad might pick up in a bargain bin sale, years after it released.
