The New Guilty Gear Is Breathtaking At 60 Frames Per Second

Added: 10.12.2014 16:17 | 11 views | 0 comments

Kotaku: "Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- would be the prettiest sprite-based 2D fighter I've played, only those aren't sprites. ARC System Works' tricksy polygon work results in a game that has to be seen running 60 frames per second at 1080p. What ARC has done with the new installment of Guilty Gear is create intricate cel-shaded polygon models for each of its 14 characters (16 with two DLC fighters), and then limited their movement in battle to simulate 2D sprites. The illusion is pretty spectacular. So much so that I ran out to my local big box electronics store to pick up an Elgato Game Capture HD60 for the sole purpose of showing our readers how pretty it looks."

SNES - The World's Greatest Console Remembered

Added: 10.12.2014 16:11 | 7 views | 0 comments

For many, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (or SNES to most of us) was, and remains, the best console ever released - the successor to the NES and direct combatant of the 16-bit wonder, the Megadrive. Launched in Japan on 21 November 1990 (it hit the US in September 1991 and in Europe in April 1992) along with the highly anticipated Super Mario World and F-zero another classic in the making. In Japan the alone, demand for the new console rose to near fever pitch so much so that Nintendo have to deliver the shipment of consoles at night for fear that the rumours that Yakuza gangs might hijack the lorries to sell the consoles on the black market would prove true.
