Vaughn Highfield of TheGamersHub writes:
"When Dead Island developer Techland said theyd be bringing out the eagerly-awaited expansion Project Hell as a full-title called Hellraid, I was both intrigued and worried. What had changed to make them feel that it could no-longer exist as an aside to their zombie slaughter? And why were they aiming to raise the bar so high and create an ambitious Elder Scrolls meets Dead Island title? Then, to raise the worry-meter (yes, Im calling it that) even higher, the project was delayed from its initial 2014 release until 2015. But why? What happened? And, more importantly, whats changed?
Well, a lot actually. For one, things have been rebuilt in Chrome Engine 6 the same engine that the fantastically fun Dying Light is built in. Thanks to this engine change, Hellraid is looking gorgeous, those lofty aspirations of Skyrim-like vistas and dungeon sprawls seem believable now."

| Dead Island 2 Interview: Yager On What Techland Got Wrong And Making A Better Sequel [IBTimes UK]
Added: 17.08.2014 11:13 | 14 views | 0 comments
At E3 the developers of shocking cult shooter Spec Ops: The Line revealed that they were making a sequel to Techland's wildly successful zombie slaying shooter Dead Island. With Techland branching off into all new territory (a shooter with zombies, this time called Dying Light) Yager Development have stepped in to take Dead Island in an all new lighter direction.
At Gamescom Yager let the public get their hands on the game for the first time, revealing a small portion of the game's sunny California setting and letting players go nuts for ten minutes of undead slaying action.
Behind the scenes we spoke to Yager's Designer Director Jörg Friedrich and Senior Producer at publisher Deep Silver Carsten Linder in a surprisingly honest interview about making the series their own and what they thought Techland did wrong.

GamingLives takes a look at the upcoming hack-and-slash swordfest from Techland.
"After much skeleton and zombie killing, the end of level boss Hircus appeared. He is a large goat-like creature with human features, and carries a massive double-sided axe. Techland state that plenty of their largest enemies have groundings in European folklore and myth, which promises to deliver on some more hideous creatures by the time the game is complete."

CCC Says: "Zombies! Zombies everywhere! That was the theme this year at E3 2014 and, to be honest, its a theme that has been reused time and time again in our current gaming market. At this point, many of us are zombie sick, and thats why more recent zombie games have been offering us zombies with a twist. One of the latest to be announced is Dying Light, a game by polish developer Techland and published by Warner Bros. Entertainment. We got a chance to see this game in action at E3 2014 this year. What does Dying Light do to set itself apart from all other zombie games out there."
