Greg Giddens of This is Xbox writes "Ziggurat brings Roguelike procedurally generated content along with the twitch reactions of a first-person shooter, all inside a fantasy comic aesthetic. Its Tower of Guns but with magic, and its brilliant."

NZG:
Its easy to remember the Wii as a console that seemed to be aimed squarely at the casual market; titles like Wii Sports, Just Dance, and Wii Fit were some of the biggest selling on the system. Its strange then, that despite this image, the Wii housed some of the biggest and best Japanese role-playing games (JRPGs) of the last generation. Titles like The Last Story and Pandoras Tower released in the Western world in the final moments of the Wiis life-span. Alongside them came one of the biggest and most critically revered JRPGs for the system: Xenoblade Chronicles.

Developer Kurechii's new mobile game Tiny Guardians is a 'tower defense, without the towers' that should prove a challenging adventure for even the most seasoned of fans. It also bears far too much of a visual resemblance to other titles in the genre.

The Reviewer writes: "Tower of Guns is a game that I went into with low expectations but was decently surprised coming out of. I enjoyed it enough to put quite a bit of time into it, but it probably isnt a game that Ill go back to very much after writing this review. The basic concept is that you are put into a randomly generated level and have to fight through a few rooms in it before getting to a boss. There was more to it than that though, and Ill go into more detail in the rest of my review."

Tower of Guns won't be winning any Game of the Year awards any time soon, but it is a fun to play. The game is a rogue-like, single player, first person shooter, with graphics not too dissimilar from those of the Borderlands games. The levels are randomly created from a pool of possible elements, given the player a unique playthrough every time.
The game takes place in a tower, filled with a variety of guns (if you hadn't guessed by the name). The objective is simple enough, just ascend the tower by clearing levels filled with randomised enemies and a boss at the end to proceed up to the next level.
