"The Legend of Dark Witch is an indie Nintendo 3DS platformer developed by Flyhigh Works and published by Circle Entertainment. Its been a tough time for newly released stealth games as of late. Youll be hard pressed to read reviews that dont compare these games to Assassins Creed, or at least pick out specific elements and abruptly state Assassins Creed already did it. Which is why I was pleased to find that Styx: Master of Shadows had a few tricks up its sleeve that hadnt yet been thoroughly overdone.

Hyrule Warriors is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: you take control of various characters from Nintendos Legend of Zelda franchise and use them to wreck the faces of many, many monsters. Youll do this with an arsenal of incredibly devastating attacks and weaponry, slaying dozens of enemies per combo and racking up insane kill counts. Its a Warriors game, in other words. Whats surprising is how well the formula works with in the context of the Legend of Zelda, which has traditionally been focused on methodical puzzle-solving rather than combat. Polygon: Yesterday morning I found myself trying to play Shadow of Mordor. I look forward to playing more today, but yesterday I didnt get much further than the tutorial before putting the game down to share some feelings. Theres a basic design mistake right at the start. One of the very first things you do in the game, following a brief sword-fight with your son and some Uruks, is kiss your wife. This isnt an ordinary kiss, its actually a tutorial for how to sneak up on someone and murder them that much is immediately clear from the controls, even before you actually kill Uruks moments later. Youre learning a skill that will later be used almost exclusively in combat.
