Added: 16.08.2014 5:26 | 0 views | 0 comments

Excerpt: "Your death is unavoidable in the prologue, and it comes fast. Youll see familiar characters from Risen 2: Dark Waters appear, as the main character from the prior game never does. Once you get resurrected by Bones, a voodoo priest, youre off to reclaim your soul thats been taken from you. And youre free to do what you want, how and when you please. The game does not suggest that there is a time limit. At a certain pivotal story point, youll have to make a choice to join a faction. This sets up the game for three playthroughs. Theres the Demon Hunters, Crystal Mages, and the Voodoo Pirates. Yes, Voodoo. Pirates."

Eleven Minutes in Assassins Creed Unity Gameplay Heaven

Added: 15.08.2014 13:13 | 5 views | 0 comments

The Gamescom 2014 Assassins Creed Unity demo has surfaced, giving us an 11-minute glimpse at what we can expect from the newest Assassins Creed game. Theres a lot of stealthing and stabbing in and among the streets of revolutionary Paris, but you knew that going in. The mission starts near Notre Dame Cathedral, where our Assassin gets a pep talk from his mentor. Arno asks about the plan for this assassination, but the mentor simply quips, Youre not an apprentice anymore. Find your own plan. From there we see the awesome assassin abilities of this new protagonist, and we think were going to be quite pleased with him. We love the new side objectives that actually make our mission easier, as Arno gathers information from an associate of the target (before killing that target) then using the info to make entry into the cathedral easier. We love that in doing so we can find an easy way to kill our target without being spotted. Most of all, we love the amazingly satisfying ci...

Critical Intel: Why Straight White Guys Shouldn't Always Play Games As Themselves

Added: 14.08.2014 21:13 | 6 views | 0 comments

Robert Rath: We've talked a lot lately about diversifying our protagonists. Whether it's Ubisoft's faux pas on including only white men as playable characters in Assassin's Creed Unity, the general lack of diverse protagonists in games, or even Marvel and DC's seeming reluctance to head up a movie with a non-white or female superhero, it seems we're reaching critical mass on the topic. And that's good, because it's worth discussing. Young girls should be able to see themselves as heroes onscreen. Black men should be able to play a game where they're something other than a gangster or a sports star. And gay players have a right to have their existence acknowledged in digital worlds.

Youll now be able to sweep the planet (or, well, Europe and some of Africa) with an army worthy of Boudicca in Total War: Rome 2, as Creative Assembly adds a lot more women to the game in both free-DLC and paid-DLC forms.

Dark Souls II: Crown of the Sunken King Review | GodisaGeek

Richard Simpson: "From Software could have taken the lazy route and delivered more of the same, but instead they have really listened, and have strived to give us something that steps away from the established Dark souls 2 template. With nods to the previous games, it makes you wonder what else they have up their sleeve. Probably more genius, tucked up there like a spare hanky. Anyway, now for that 3/10. Oh, its too late. Youve already bought it."

Hohokum Review | Hardcore Gamer

Added: 12.08.2014 16:13 | 6 views | 0 comments

Hohokum is absolutely the playground it sets out to be; its essentially Tongue-Face Emoticon: The Game. Speaking metaphorically, every standard playground feature is there: the slide, the jungle gym, the monkey bars, the merry-go-round, the teeter-totter, and the swing-set. Youll have your fun, shed a few smiles, and be in a mild state of bliss. Itll provide the occasional joy that youre looking for every now and again, but it lacks that oomph that takes it from playground to amusement park.
