Dread Central: "Having just completed my second visit to Yamatai, this time on the Xbox One, Im again left marveling over one of the most exciting and visceral games Ive ever played. NextGen Lara is a marvel of gaming animation, and Im clamoring to see where Crystal Dynamics will take her (and the series) next. Because the sequel is well into development, it may be too late for my voice to be heard. But consider this a wish list of sorts for what Id like to see in the much anticipated Tomb Raider sequel."

Pixelvolt: "Beyond: Two Souls was one of my absolute favorite games released in 2013. I realize that I am basically alone in this, as many people have written it off as a poor excuse for an interactive film. Maybe it is the film critic in me that ultimately shines through here, but there is so much depth to this game from a narrative perspective that I would be remiss if I did not come to its defense. The most intense and fleshed out theme of the game is a how a persons codependency can define and ultimately become who they are. Beyond serves as a cautionary tale of sorts, illustrating the limited possibilities of relationships that can consume you."

OnlySP: Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is more of a rebuild than a port. Crystal Dynamics (and the associated teams at Nixxes and United Front) have taken a great game, turned the graphics up to eleven, and then added even more shinies on top. While retaining the exact core gameplay experience, the Definitive Edition teams have managed to spit polish and redo a slew of graphical thingamabobs, making it the prettiest version of Tomb Raider yet.

You are Lara Croft; a survivor, with your skills inherited as much as they are grown into, on an island where flames are abundant and the lush, green forests are as dense as a nursery school flunkee. When I played Tomb Raider on PS3, the game wowed me instantly, my eyes grew to the sizes of all of the moons in our solar system and then some and I immediately declared it the best looking game on Sonys aging console. Crystal Dynamics upscaling efforts (the game runs in 1080P at 60FPS on PS4) have succeeded tremendously and I feel pretty confident in saying that Tomb Raider Definitive Edition is the best looking game on PS4 thus far."

Having spent my Christmas break exploring the unkind shores of Yamatai on the PlayStation 3, I really wasnt expecting Crystal Dynamics seemingly overpriced next generation upgrade to catch my attention a second time. However, from the opening cinematic through to the first underground environment, I knew that I was wrong. I even pushed the DualShock 4s versatile share button to publicly acknowledge as much."
