July showed no sign of cooling down as the pickups just kept coming. Some really interesting titles fell into my lap this episode but the road wasn't all smooth sailing.

Just Cause 3s Challenge Mode Looks Boringly Fun

Added: 20.08.2015 16:18 | 34 views | 0 comments

RPS: "A lot of open world games are fun because of the things that are in that world: particular towns, or particular quests and dungeons. Often these are things that momentarily shrink the world down to a more constrained area or path. Just Cause is one of the few series though where the fun is more closely linked to its openness. Its a game not about missions, though those are there, but about the silly chaining together of action setpieces, from surfing atop a moving car, to tethering that car to a lamppost and swinging it off a cliff, to leaping from that falling car and wingsuiting down a mountain, to grappling yourself to the roof of another car, and so on."

DiscStorm Review | GameSpew

Added: 20.08.2015 11:18 | 19 views | 0 comments

Jack Small at GameSpew writes: "You know youre off to a good start when you wake up in the middle of a dojo to a woman as old as time sipping steaming hot coffee and asking you to throw discs at crash test dummies to a soundtrack of old school arcade music. Just another average day at the office, right? You thought wrong. DiscStorm is a journey unlike any other where youll play ring-around-the-rosy with flesh-eating rats, go toe-to-toe with a mummy that just doesnt want to die, and ultimately die a dozen times because your own disc came reflecting right back at you even after killing a whole wave of zombies. The idea is simple: throw discs, kill things, survive. Its one of the easiest concepts youll ever play this side of the millennium yet itll be harder than any of the games youve been wearing your thumbs out on recently."

The Game Preserve Provides Texas Gamers with Fun and History

Added: 20.08.2015 1:18 | 39 views | 0 comments

Colby Primeaux writes, "If you find yourself in The Woodlands, TX driving north on I-45 from Houston, and you exit and turn left onto Sawdust Rd., and you see a Walgreens on the left about half a mile down, do yourself a favor and turn in. Go past the Walgreens, past the Radio Shack and past the FedEx store, and youll see a curious sight: an actual arcade. In the world of Xbox Live and PlayStation Network and Steam, this is a rarity in itself, but what makes The Game Preserve really intriguing is what youll find inside. No tokens, no change machines, no giant rat suits and no tickets to spend on stuffed animals that should cost about two dollars but you actually spend about 20 in order to win. Just games."

Airscape: The Fall of Gravity Review | Gamer Headlines

Added: 19.08.2015 22:18 | 12 views | 0 comments

Airscape: The Fall of Gravity may borrow platforming elements from games before it, but the pacing and many level mechanics offer a great platforming experience. Even so, the wonderful design doesnt change the fact that Airscape can leave its players nauseous with a bit of seasickness. On the other hand, players with an iron stomach that are looking to spend $9.99 on a new Platformer for their PC or Mac will definitely get their moneys worth. Just when you think you are making decent progress, a new world will appear with new mechanics to test your skills.
